Brian was born with heart defect, and he also caught other illness when he was a child, so he spent his childhood in and out of hospital. (He talked about it in the past interview) He was not so physically strong since his birth, but he always stay strong and tried everything and kept smiling. I really admire him. Then he had a heart surgery at the age of 23 because of his heart issue. About 12 years ago he got sick again and after that he was diagnosed with dystonia and dysphonia due to mainly stress and mental issues according to the AJ's interview in 2015. But a lot of people who don't know his journey say unkind things to him when they saw his performance these years. It's a shame that judging someone without knowing backgrounds. I will support him and send love to him no matter what will happen in the future. (Sorry for my bad English)

Bless his heart! He's a true warrior... He's been through so much with his health over the years. I noticed in September when I saw the DNA tour live, his voice was pretty normal at the beginning of the show, but they performed for almost 2 hours and his voice got weaker the further along they got in their set. They have been touring like crazy so I think that is really affecting his voice. To be honest, touring like that is tough on any singers vocals, I can't even imagine adding a syndrome that affects his vocal ability on top of all of that.

I honestly don't think he'll fully recover. What he's giving us now is probably the best he can with what he's working with. I love the boys and have been a fan since I was five and a half but the realist in me at 32 is proud of Brian for trying to get back what he was at 20.

AJ sounds better now than he ever has before and he's always been a powerful singer, but now, he is phenomenal! When I saw them live in September and they sang Breathe, when it came time for his solo, I literally had chills, he's amazing! I'm so glad he's sober, healthy and happy!

Backstreet Boys will never die. They are still as strong as ever. Even though Nick Carter is going through a rough patch right now they are still behind him. Yes Brian is having issues with his vocals but he still gives it his all. I think it's awesome that the other guys are standing behind them. They will get through this and still be on top of the pop charts for a very long time. They were my favorite group growing up for 30 years I've listened to them and my love for them is stronger than ever. I was 8 when they came into existence and I'm 38 now.

It causes tension and constriction in the muscles around his vocal chords and doesn’t allow the voice to come out naturally. It’s heartbreaking to watch but he’s learned some techniques to make his voice sound a little better, especially with their newer songs. It’s harder with their old songs because his vocal chords don’t allow him to sing that way anymore.

Seen them in 2019 and 2022 when they came back from the C19 BS. As a 42 year old male I must say they killed it both times. To all the single men out there, go to their concerts. Women all over the place. 20 years ago I wouldn’t have gone to their concerts because of what others would think, today...couldn’t care less. Hope to see them many more times with all 5 of them. It’s not the same when the originals aren’t together.

I know there are other boybands but… the biggest are BTS and Backstreet Boys. Their last studio album DNA went number 1, their first in a long time. I hear their newer stuff play more at places than their old stuff which is insane. How backstreet boys manages to stay at the top level is amazing!

They have always put on such great shows. I miss their headsets though, they were able to do the dance moves and stuff. My favorite concert is their coming home concert in Orlando, like late 90s early 2000s. Such an amazing performance.

The old Brian's voice comes back at certain times. The condition he has doesn't seem to affect his upper range too much. It's his mid and lower range that really gives him problems.

It's a big thing to stay in the industry for so long. But it's a different story if you stay that long and still be on top of the charts, still can fill stadiums and have sold out tickets. NSYNC gone. ONE DIRECTION gone. BTS gone. Backstreetboys still strong. From a fan since 10 years old, hat's off to the boys for being brave and strong. Fans obviously knows Nick and Brian are facing some issues, but they never fail to give us a good performance.
The only BOYBAND since from 90's who still alive and kicking they deserved a halftime show honestly!
New kids on the block is still around and making music
Hanson's still around, selling out tours and releasing new albums.

Brian was born with heart defect, and he also caught other illness when he was a child, so he spent his childhood in and out of hospital. (He talked about it in the past interview) He was not so physically strong since his birth, but he always stay strong and tried everything and kept smiling. I really admire him. Then he had a heart surgery at the age of 23 because of his heart issue. About 12 years ago he got sick again and after that he was diagnosed with dystonia and dysphonia due to mainly stress and mental issues according to the AJ's interview in 2015. But a lot of people who don't know his journey say unkind things to him when they saw his performance these years. It's a shame that judging someone without knowing backgrounds. I will support him and send love to him no matter what will happen in the future. (Sorry for my bad English)
Brian is one of my favorites in the band. He is so sweet to everybody. ❤❤❤ Brian is amazing person and amazing singer.
I knew all about Brian's health problems, but it did NOT stop him for his love for music!!! He's an inspiration and I was lucky to meet him a few years ago. So humble.
Brian, although we missed your ever angelic yet powerful voice, you made us be proud of you more (as the first lead voice of this Boyband since you have 80 percent of solos in all backstreet boys songs) , seeing you still with the band is the most important thing for us BSB ever solid fans

Yeah kudos to Brian. That must be tough. At least this didn't happen to him as a solo artist. That would REALLY suck. He has the support of a tight knit group.

Bless his heart! He's a true warrior... He's been through so much with his health over the years. I noticed in September when I saw the DNA tour live, his voice was pretty normal at the beginning of the show, but they performed for almost 2 hours and his voice got weaker the further along they got in their set. They have been touring like crazy so I think that is really affecting his voice. To be honest, touring like that is tough on any singers vocals, I can't even imagine adding a syndrome that affects his vocal ability on top of all of that.

I honestly don't think he'll fully recover. What he's giving us now is probably the best he can with what he's working with. I love the boys and have been a fan since I was five and a half but the realist in me at 32 is proud of Brian for trying to get back what he was at 20.
I think it's nice that he wants to keep singing, but isn't that worse for his voice? Maybe using playback for a while would help his recovery? I don't exactly what he has.

AJ sounds better now than he ever has before and he's always been a powerful singer, but now, he is phenomenal! When I saw them live in September and they sang Breathe, when it came time for his solo, I literally had chills, he's amazing! I'm so glad he's sober, healthy and happy!

Brian was never my favourite but I find I like him more now. His perseverance over his vocal issues is admirable. It’s a shame people watching that are not fans will likely think he is sick or just past his prime.

Backstreet Boys will never die. They are still as strong as ever. Even though Nick Carter is going through a rough patch right now they are still behind him. Yes Brian is having issues with his vocals but he still gives it his all. I think it's awesome that the other guys are standing behind them. They will get through this and still be on top of the pop charts for a very long time. They were my favorite group growing up for 30 years I've listened to them and my love for them is stronger than ever. I was 8 when they came into existence and I'm 38 now.

It really breaks my heart that Brian has to go through that with his vocal cords, but they all did amazing and no matter if he can still sing or not the fact that he’s trying so hard it’s priceless! I will always love all of them!😭❤️❤️

It breaks my heart to hear Brian struggle so much with his vocals, I really thought he was recovering. I do applaud him for not giving up and the other boys for supporting him though. Those guys can still put on a damn good show even after all these years. Been a fan for 27 years and I will love them forever.

Yeah it seemed like it was getting better about 5yrs ago around the time of their Vegas residency, but it's getting worse. I feel bad for him. At least he isn't a solo artist. He would've had to call it quits.

@@carrielawrence5048he has a condition that effects his muscles and vocal chords. He’s been struggling with it for years and years now. They just go with it when they perform live.
@@readingchapterbooks881 he’s had a condition called vocal tension dysphonia. It causes tension and constriction in the muscles around his vocal chords and doesn’t allow the voice to come out naturally. It’s heartbreaking to watch but he’s learned some techniques to make his voice sound a little better, especially with their newer songs. It’s harder with their old songs because his vocal chords don’t allow him to sing that way anymore.
@@jen0718 Yup because their older songs are in a slightly higher key from when they were kids(our voices naturally drop a bit when we get older)and their newer songs are a step or two lower to adjust to their voices now.

Seen them in 2019 and 2022 when they came back from the C19 BS. As a 42 year old male I must say they killed it both times. To all the single men out there, go to their concerts. Women all over the place. 20 years ago I wouldn’t have gone to their concerts because of what others would think, today...couldn’t care less. Hope to see them many more times with all 5 of them. It’s not the same when the originals aren’t together.
I saw Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block in Jacksonville this year. Both bands were awesome and it was the best looking women I have ever seen in one place.
I went to see them a few weeks ago. Brian got all the best notes 100% i love that he sings live. He puts his all into every performance. Sometimes he struggles but he never gives up. 😍😍😍 Keep going ❤️

I know there are other boybands but… the biggest are BTS and Backstreet Boys. Their last studio album DNA went number 1, their first in a long time. I hear their newer stuff play more at places than their old stuff which is insane. How backstreet boys manages to stay at the top level is amazing!

I heard their song when i was in elementary, about in grade 1 i think. But i love them when i was in 4th grade. I am still baby when they first start sing together. I was born in 1992.
