We apologize that we haven't added the video for so long, but you know what is happening in the world and we had to deal with the most important matters in this difficult period.
As you saw at the end of the video, we want to add some electronics in the future. I don't know if it will work yet, but I think it's worth a try :)

  • Darek you need to add stepper motors and drivers so you can fully CNC it to cut out anything you can design in the CAD software! Great job on the very nice table!

    • I have a cheap chinese vinyl cutter/plotter at work, and I often wonder how feasible it would be to hack one into a CNC device of some kind. You don't need the stepper torque you would for a router.

  • Wow, another great tool. I like that you made it manual, tracing around shapes manually - people don't account for all the time it takes to create and perfect CAD drawings. It's fine to invest this time if you are going to make many of something, but small hobby shop quantities don't warrant CAD IMHO, let alone the extra effort of motorising and controlling the cutting head. Perhaps you can add manual scaling of a shape instead, a little like Matthias Wandel does with his routing jig? Whatever you choose to do is fine however, its yours after all. As a viewer watching you create and then seeing the genius of both your design and your method of working is very thought provoking and educational. Thanks.

  • Fantastic video as always. I was watching thinking this is ideal for a later conversion to CNC or some sort of automation. Then there it was right at the end...I new you would have already thought of that 😉 I'd be tempted to put some sort of spark guard around the plasma head though to keep them off the rails and away from the linear bearings. It would be a shame for them to get damaged. Can't wait to see the next part. 👍

Pozdrawiam
