  • A round lens hood tends to make a shadow in images using the built in flash. Square lens hood is better.

  • SUGGESTION: To square and adjust the square lens hood into your ring - please - cut a small rectangular piece of black Vinyl electrical tape (2~3 mm wide x 8~10 mm long) and add it perpendicular or longitudinal to the edge of the lens hood on the thread side. Then, thread the hood into your adapter ring. This little hack lets you easily adjust the hood tight to the ring adapter. And no more adjustments will be needed to make it square and in place. By the way, I have all of these square hoods, they work fine., and I love them all.

  • With the adapter on and the JJc Hood removed can you pit the original cap back on?

  • any thought's about the gap with the haoge?

    • You mean the gap between the hood and the OEM lens cap? Yeah. That’s an issue with haoge.

  • My choice was the Haoge one and for one specific reason. Other hoods obstruct the field of view of the optical viewfinder. This one should not. I have the hood, but haven’t gotten my X100VI yet so I haven’t tested it myself, but I saw a comparison between the X100V hoods in the past.

    • Good point. It is less obstructive comparing with the other one.

  • There is no need for a lens cap, adding one to a filter is even more unnecessary.
