    • @@DrTeresaVanWoy Love the way dad's singing along, his reply and sooo so chilled out. 🤣 Yerh, we've got hedgehogs in Northumberland UK 🇬🇧 near Scotland. I've started a mini project, turning waste and waste lands into nature reserves just for a hobby. We found a hedgehog hibernating in a rubbish bag about to go into the rubbish bin. I was looking for a unwanted brush head to fix and thought I found one until I turned it over. Got a shock to see this giant hedgehog. They're getting very rare here. Some say they're going extinct here in the wild. I've only seen a mother and her kids in a line about 30 years ago. I took a video and decided to post the hedgehog. I bought a hedgehog hibernating house and he barely fitted in due to his size. Almost as big as a cat. He's safe now in a corner. kzhead.info/sun/nZRrnceXnpuafJE/bejne.html

  • This is the type of behaviour they exhibit when they are frightened, or they feel that the environment is not stable for raising their young. Between this, and bathing them over the garbage disposal hole in the sink, I would think it would be best that you surrender them to an organization that knows how to properly take care of them.

  • Ah... as someone who has bred hedgehog's, that's an aggressive show, shoving their nose under to bite at skin and fling around. Hedgehogs are solitary creatures, the 'babies' are well old enough for be out on their own and should all be separated by this point. Mothers can attack and even kill their own once they are old enough. I had to refuse sale often from people who already had a hedgehog and wanted to get them a 'buddy'. Hedgehog's don't live together, they don't play together, they are solitary and come together only for male and female mating... and even then if ones not in the mood and has no escape you can and will have a bloody mess as they do not mess around and it is not fun trying to release a hedgehog whos clamped down on the tender underside of another. Once a baby has been weened it NEEDS to be removed from the mom or you get this.
