We Walked 400km across Scotland: The Cape Wrath Trail in 13 Minutes

2023 ж. 7 Мау.
16 503 Рет қаралды

In April-May of 2023, my partner Kris and I walked the Cape Wrath Trail together across Scotland, starting at Fort William and ending at Cape Wrath Lighthouse. All in all, almost exactly 400km of trekking in 19 days total, including getting lost a few times while navigating our way through the beautiful but pathless mountains, hehe.
It was one of the best "walks" of my life, I'll be honest. And I made this video to try to showcase the kind of feeling that I got while walking. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the experience, and the creation process of this video! ♥

  • Breathtaking shots accompanied by such a wonderful and humbling storytelling 💚✨💚 What an adventure! If I may, I don't know if it was a voluntary choice, but the use of audio ducking could have been helpful at the beginning as I struggled to understand to words because of the music still playing pretty loud behind your voice. Loved the composition otherwise!!

  • Thank you for this beautiful video, both in the beauty of the Nature you experienced, what you had to say about how it touched you and your life, and the accompanying music. I found it quite inspiring as I had hoped to trek across the British Isles with a newly acquired English Mastiff puppy, this after I finished college~way later than the original plan. But alas, it never happened; it has not been the right time to get a dog for years now, or to travel like this for a time-maybe it will be in a different place, at another fork in the road...time will tell. Oh, and loved your medieval gown and sword! 💘

I really don’t know what to say. Im part Scottish, like many are, and my wife and I spent several weeks in Britain including a week in Cornwall and 10 days on Skye in 2012, one of the nicest summers on record! I’ve tried to imagine how you do your incredible stills too, especially the landscape selfies, but it’s beyond me really. You truly are an artist, and all art is about connection and discovery, to self and to others we share this amazing life with. Not to mention connection to this marvellous 🌎 planet. I confess I am blessed/cursed(?) with the ability to feel such connection very deeply, and it always awes me when others resonate with that too. Btw your narration was really good as well, and definitely contributed to the calming and grounding that others have mentioned.☺️👍 Thanks for making my day for the second time this week! We crossed paths with anywhere between 2-10 people each day on the trails, some doing the Cape Wrath and some doing different intersecting trails. For me it was perfect to know others were out there in case of emergency, but we could still easily have many hours of being completely alone. 🥰
