Someone was talking crap the other day, something about how people that shoe horses without a forge are no good.
I own a forge and a couple of anvils, but I made this video shoeing on a stall jack for that guy.
That guy has been trying to shoe horses for about a year and still knows it all. I get it, I used to be him.
The point of it all is that at the end of the day, you can do a good job no matter what your method. What matters is a sound happy horse with balanced feet that can perform to the best of his ability.

I have a Yoder tall stall jack, for traveling. Cold shaping wide web shoes on it is a real pain, but most keg shoes aren't so wide, and it goes ok. I travel light.

Had a know it all say pretty much the same thing to me years ago. Funny thing is, a group of people evaluated both our work afterward and ALL picked my cold shoeing job as the better work. the guy left in a huff. LOL
You're definitely entertaining to watch! Lol Dug out my stall jack to go shoe some Polo horses tomorrow. My forge and anvil are tools I use whenever I'm out shoeing. We'll see how it goes cold banging on my stall jack. Omg those words kinda make me sad, cold banging, stall jack, as if. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy spirit Jesus help me and purify my soul lol for not just using those words but actually contemplating doing it and using the tool that is probably going to end up in the bottom of a lake down here yonder in Southwest Florida.
