  • My grandfather was an explorer who came across my grandmother's tribe when he was just 19. They got married and had 12 children together. My grandfather died in his late 30s due to cancer.     • The movie is solid but ngl, they basically ripped the premise for it right from the scrips of the time dilation phenomenons that first occured in a couple of episodes to SG-1 in the show Stargate SG1 and then again in a manner very similar to this Anime in the Stargate Atlantis episode called "Epiphany" to Colonel Shepard. While he is taking point in exploring a new planet, he inadvertently gets his arm stuck in the warped vacuum-like entrance to a cave and with all 3 team members pulling him back he still gets pulled into the invisible protective barrier utilizing extreme time dilation to greatly speed up the flow of time to anyone inside. The idea instigating its invention by the Ancients (whom are basically the first evolution of the human species that existed millions of years before us and became technologically advanced to the point of near 100% grasp of all knowledge of all things in existence) was hypothesized by the Atlantis team to offer the purpose of allowing volunteers entering inside to be able to then devote their remaining decades of their lives existing in a physical form, towards finding their individual paths towards ascension to a higher plane of existence thus shedding the restraints of time flow as we see it and evolving beyond needing a physical form and instead becoming a near omniscient, entropic-like living energy with what easily appears to be near unrestricted supernatural skills and abilities to anyone still on our plane of existence. This obviously is a lot more complicated than the anime but the Stargate series was also 12 years and 220+ episodes in providing the time to generate all the lore involved. But boiling the Epiphany episode down to simple script only, its clear this anime was following its premise damn near exactly whether it was intentionally or not. Frankly it wouldnt even matter at all asthe idea of time dilation wasn't created within stargate, but the ideas of how to use it in a script were and thats script has at its core been used here. So, writers, perhaps give some love to that great show with of credits and inspiration!

I discovered that I was severely traumatized due to neglect, and he was the one guy that I would feel safe with. I liked the feeling of safety that I projected onto him and created a person in my head that did not exist in real life.

    • When I was 8 years old, I met a girl and (I know we were just kids) we became very attached, promising that we would be together. At the end of the school year, during a school party she told me about something about her but i don't remember what she said... I know what she said was something that broke me that day... I can't remember what it was... But Last year I managed to remember this scene idk why, but there are no words just a horrible feeling... I think I internalized something really bad at 8 years old 😢 and can't remember, today i have a a huge rejection and aversion to betrayal and I have no idea why... I think it has something to do with that, maybe therapy will help me one day 😂. (That day whe had a dancing competition at school, my mom recorded it, she was my pair... her face doesn't apear in any camera record 😂, and i can't remember anything about that night before i talked with her, i remember my older brother dancing before, but my own dance and the rest of the night I can't remember, crazy right?) I can't even remember her face/voice only the feelings. But I know clearly that I spent an entire school year with that girl. I'm 23 today, I never even heard from her again it was like she never existed... and i think I'm 24/7 in defensive mode about relationships and idk why 😂. Srry for venting this... i never talked about this with anyone, and idk why i wanted to talk this here, but i vented it.

    • @@erilowl I totally get what you’re saying now. Sometimes I wonder if it is a blessing or a curse to not remember certain memories. I also totally relate to your fear. I have such a huge fear of rejection that I have only been in one relationship in my 24 years of life and that was 7 years ago for 2 month-ish. I already feel rejected and unlovable even before I get rejected because of multiple instances of confessing to a guy and the guy ghosting me or getting a girlfriend later on. I learned that I need to release the traumas that my body is holding in order to move on. Otherwise, I get stuck in 7 years ago feeling unlovable. It is extremely difficult, but I have been making progress.

    • It's rare indeed but that kind of love does exist. It can't always be reciprocated though. That's the saddest part, when true love get you stuck, your heart frozen in the void she left, unable to feel anything else for anyone else. 8ys? It's been a decade for me! The only difference between my life and an anime is that they get to reunite in those stories... So unconditional love exists, it just wasn't made for this world.

  • I have a theory: Kaoru thought that he was the reason behind his sister's death. Although he said he wants to bring his sister back but maybe the truth is his subconscious mind wants to meet his sister once again and undo the mistake he made. When he got into the room and spoke to his sister, he realised that his sister was satisfied with her life and loves her brother so much. When she told him about what she wants from her brother i.e, to care and love the person he wants, he realises that his sister has already given him the permission to live a happy life with the most important person (at present where his sister is dead) to him and his sister would be satisfied with it. So he made the decision to go back to the present. And for the question of why he didn't bring her back, he might have thought about it for a long time whether to bring his sister back from past or not as in present everyone knows that his sister is dead so it might cause problems, but later decided to bring her back. But when he talked with his sister he realised that he must not think about the past as his sister is no more and moreover his sister herself gave him the permission to go enjoy the present rather than keep thinking about his sister.

Spoilers: It was already 8 years for her when she received the message, after that she also rushed inside the tunnel and inside that tunnel time became equal for both of them but time continued outside the tunnel. That means it took 5 years only to get outside of that tunnel. So when they reached outside of the tunnel, it was 5 years for girl but 13 years for boy.

  • I just watched this in theaters, it did not disappoint. When I got home, I searched for this very short because it is what made me want to find the movie. Someone said it is like Interstellar, I agree. It is also like Spirited Away and Your Name, too. I definitely recommend it.
