If you think Sony didn't start R&D on a new handheld console after the poor reception of the PlayStation portal you probably don't understand trends. I'll admit I haven't really used this thing very often, but sometimes it is useful when my parents are hogging the TV when I want to play PS5. I mainly use the Portal to play games without interrupting their shows.

PSA: The best tip no one talks about for an lagless experience is slightly lowering your PS5's MTU. On your Network name in Network settings, press options and change your MTU to manual. Then lower it to 1473 from the default 1500. You get fewer data drops, which were causing random freezes and lag. Also make sure your using a high speed Ethernet cable(Cat 6 or above), and you'll be GOLDEN... 😉👍

Stuff we need in future PlayStation updates 1. Being able to separate party chat audio from recordings when sharing them 2. Being able to use voice keyboard inside of games 3. Fix an annoying bug that suspends your game when trying to save a clip with a full storage, thus deleting your clip 4. Being able to record System UI 5. Explore tab in all regions 6. This is more of a visual thing but it would be cool to make the default selection in the quick menu to be on the home button rather than being on the far left 7. I'm not a storage expert but if it's possible to make video clips and screenshots to save on your m.2 SSD that would be helpful! 8. Letting more 3rd party services the ability to create media apps for the PlayStation 9. PlayStation Stars being in all regions 10. Being able to see game update history 11. Backing up save files using a usb on PS5 and not being limited to cloud storage only 12. PS4 players should be able to see your share screen 13. Ability to buy avatars on ps5 like you used to do on ps4 These were some of the most important things that the current state for the PS5 software need after owning the console since launch day. Might want to ask the right questions. What type of phone do you have? What type of phone service are you connecting to? Do you have full signal? 📶 What's your connection speed for both upload and download speeds? All of these answers from these questions factor into your experience with the PlayStation Portal.
The best experience you're going to get is if your PS5 is hardwired to your router at home and connected to a Fiber Internet connection. And when you're away from home you are connected to a fast WiFi internet connection with full signal strength.
I am surprised at how well it works. I just got mine this past Tuesday & I love it. Now I can go anywhere in my house & play my PS5 or on the go, which shocked me as well I thought I was gonna have crazy input lag etc etc but nope the resolution wasn't maxed out but it was playable.
I'm glad some ppl like this thing but I'm still waiting for a proper PSP/PSVITA sequel

I just use my 10 inch android tablet with a Snapdragon 8 gen 1 with remote play app and a Gamesir Galileo. I have 5G so its truly portable, i can watch youtube and check emails. This device you're selling does nothing.

I got this and it's awesome. Managed to convince my workmates to get it and he loves it. Brilliant device that boosts what I wanted in a remote play device since the PS vita to the PS4.

I seriously don't see the point in buying this. You need to be in range of your PS5 for it to work meaning you'll already be in your house next to it . . . So what's stopping me from just playing it? Especially since the TV would have better picture quality and little control delay
You can do it remotely because it requires using a modem but quality and latency is horrible like that.

You don’t need to be near your PS5. I used mine in Florida while my PS5 was in San Diego. I used it in Arizona off a phone hot spot and it worked fine too

You don't have to be in range, I'm not sure why everyone thinks portal users are stuck at home. My PS5 was home in the UK and I was playing in Germany pretty well lol.

I played the entirety of Sea of Stars and part of FFVII remake on the portal! Also, Marvel's Midnight Sons & now Stellar Blade and Tales of Kenzara Zau! I love this thing.

@@SquidCena Well for starters the Steam Deck can play a majority of PC games and including some popular PlayStation games, you can use it as an emulation if you know how to pull it off. In my opinion, a new portable console from PlayStation kinda sounds unnecessary and a waste of money especially when the competition already has way more appeal and potential.

Please give us an option for higher bit rates. I have a really fast internet connection and the highest bit rate looks fine while standing still, the second you move it turns into a smeary mess. Just give us the option for a higher cap! That was everyone can take advantage of the device

This device saved my gaming life, having one shared TV between family members it allows me to play when the TV is busy. Great screen and sound, of course it needs some network tweaking but remember this is interactive streaming.
So you can spend over 100 dollars on this remote thing but can't afford a smart tv? Not a 4k one a simple HD one?
