The problem for Dalot is he’s not only played too much this season but he’s constantly had to play out of position at left back because United literally do not have a fit natural left back. And they haven’t had one for well over half the season.

Everything is coming to balance now and catching up to United. Was berated on here for saying United lucked out Ws all season due to individual performances and that Ten Haag ball wasn’t sustainable. Their league position papered over their horrible GD. And GD is one stat that lets u know how legit or fake a team truly is.

Actually your take is complete nonsense. Awesome, Tchouameni made the adjustment. But he’s also a decade younger and much faster than Casemiro. Not to mention playing DCM is entirely different from playing CB.

Goldstein really doesn’t get that injuries are part of the issues at United
It’s not that complicated. Ten Hag’s preferred starting lineup was Onana, Shaw, Martínez, Varane, Dalot, Casemiro, Mainoo, Bruno, Rashford, Garnacho, and Hojlund (with Martial splitting time and coming on regularly as a substitute). That starting 11 has barely played together all season. And you categorically cannot have a back four that is chopped up virtually every single week and expect cohesion. People mocking United right now aren’t being the least bit objective.

Also, at one stage of the season, United was on course for 4th and then had to battle for a champions league slot whilst in 6th position (after the Wolverhampton and West Ham results. Injuries increased and the plummet happened. Yes, every team has Injuries. However, United suffered an injury-crisis pretty much the majority of the season and let's not overlook the availability of both Greenwood and Sancho. Having neither of the two is a problem all to it's self that reduced the options available to ETH.

Newcastle hasn't had a first choice midfield since October. They've also not had a first choice back 5 since September. The only three players who've been ever present almost all season is Gordon, Bruno and Schar. They've missed their first choice keeper and best defender Botman has also been missing the majority of the season. It's been so bad half fit players have been rushed back and sometimes 3 keepers have been on the bench.
Who’s fault is it that Newcastle have a gambling addict prat who got caught out and banned, who would have been part of the first choice midfield

arguing over whether Dalot or Wan-bissaka is a better right-back proves the point - they've both had to play nearly every game with one of them covering at left back because Shaw and Malacia have been injured all season. One is meant to be a back up for the other to cover for short term injuries/form....at right back... there's no cover available when they're pulled to cover for other back line injuries

It's amazing how far back Ten Hag has took United with his signings. Onana is awful, Mason Mount is a sick note, Malacia is a sick note, Martinez is a sick note, Casemiro is diabolical, Antony is a contender for worst ever Man United player, and Hoijlund is potential who can't develop because he's in such a bad team. The only bright sparks of the Ten Hag era are Garnacho and Mainoo, and they both came from the youth team.

For Darren Bent: Newcastles game with the most of our "starters" out was from my knowledge the Everton game in April. Only Schar, Bruno and Isak in, with Burn out of position (Arguably). Injured and unavailable, Pope, Trippier, Botman, Joelinton, Tonali, Miggy and Gordon. On top of that, no Wilson, Livramento, Lascelles, Anderson, Miley, Targett and only real bench player who was not fit enough to start after coming back from injury, Willock. And for Andy, the EFL Cup line-up where Newcastle won 3 0 against Man Utd this season, not one starting player in position for that game, only Joelinton and Gordon started and they weren't in their preferred positions. Its simple, Man Utd can't blame injuries as their excuse. But I hope they keep ten Hag as the manager.
Goldstein is right, we only had half our 1st team. Playing 47 games does not make you a 1st team player if you are the only fully fit fullback for the season. It just means you are fit.
