Adrian Newey is back on Talking Bull, the official Oracle Red Bull Racing podcast, brought to you by HP @PolyCompany.     • Looks like the V10 will get at least one more member for its kin before its total extinction. Since lamborghini is playing lame and retiring theirs in favor of generic V8s . Its funny how the last production V10 that exists is actually Fords and its for heavy duty vehicles....

    • Waste of potential. An Electric powertrain would have absolutely decimated the tracks. Examples like the Volkswagen ID.R or the McMurtry Speirling which can beat F1 cars.

    • @@akrosek15they will need a straight line efficient car so it might be hard to gain laptime down the straights like the porsche but it will surely eat up the corners which can also gain a proportional amount of time, active aero elements to shed drag can further help as well… excited to see its performance and efficiency

  • When you listening and watch this man there are no clues how brilliant he is... but if you listen very carefully you pick up the stardust! In the past and in our days, there are people we call "legends"... Adrian is definitely one of them. His personality makes him only more that way! What a pleasant man he is.     • But it has to be a Mercedes, or an Aston Martin. So the Valkyrie could be good for one of them. Though I'm not sure it has enough space for all the equipment a Safety Car needs.

  • Such a great interview yet again. Loving the dynamics. She leads him and let’s him speak. The humble, wise, calm Adrian… just love that. And knowing that his brain is always seeing/designing new parts/ways to improve. Other teams have gone in all sorts of ways with the new regs and keep changing their design philosophy… which was detrimental for them, also cos data from previous designs don’t corollate well.. they are still searching. Yeah, most teams will be copying the RB19 car…. It’s great to know we have Max in the car 👊🏻👊🏻 And Andrian eyes truly light up talking abt the RB17 hypercar…. So wonderful to see… RB gives him the opportunity to take on these unique adventures. Such a great family RBR/RB is 👍

  • Im a little bit worried that a lot of car fans arround the world doesn't understand this RB-17 car as it full "picture". What he and the spectacular RB team are doing here is a boundary car that I'm not quite sure for how long we are not going to see again. Will be the first time in automotive industry history that a PRODUCTION, 2 seatters-car will have the performance of a F1 car on track, AND with multiple performance settings at owner's disposal. I cannot say what I'm doing related to cars, but as a car industry's insider this man and the RB team is surely my biggest inspiration. Thank you Adrian, thank you RB team.

  • Bro the only thing I heard was: Imagine everything you ever wanted in an F1 car then combined and put into a hypercar and then upgraded to be a 2 seater and then put into being possibly the best and most legendary track car to ever exist.   • Lamborghini's new dynamic alignment hubs seem fun for a car like this. If it were me, I'd REALLY try some designs for an unsprung ground effect floor. It floats between chassis and the ground. Most of its aero load goes directly into the wheel uprights. Advantage: chassis suspension isn't load by the floor downforce. Even the wings can be mounted to the uprights, it's been done and banned in racing. The unsprung weight goes up, but that also happened when F1 went to the new wheel size. F1 cars still work just fine. My hypercar or spec race car would have the lightest wheel and tire size that works for the loads. It may even end up 6-wheeled. It's been done and banned in F1, it has aerodynamic and load bearing advantages.

    • Really? She doesn't seem to know much about F1 or cars. He's talking about down force and drag, and lift to drag ratio and how the car would be efficient at creating down force and from the look on her face she seems to think he means efficient in fuel consumption. I've never heard her comment back anything that indicates she knows anything about F1, or even cars in general

  • Really hope the Hyper Car Adrian design will have the sitting position of an F1 car. I do feel F1 sitting position is more comfortable for driving comparing to conventional position in all current road car.

    • Previous years, prior to 2021, were also between Allison and Newey but the Merc hybrid engine gave Allison huge leverage tho

    • @Redlingstein plus the Renault years they wouldn't change the PU to fit the suspension Newey wanted. Early Honda years were underpowered/unreliable. They've hit their stride now.

  • i have the same problem with doodling things on paper and misplacing them. would love the opportunity to own one (dreaming yes) and as soon as i heard come for a holiday bring the missus for a tour etc, that dream totally shut down lol. however if there is a spare seat whenever your in western australia, one enthusiastic passenger here ready at a moments notice!

  • so i am a bit confused with the terminology. Are we talking about a "Hypercar" like The Koenigsegg Agera R or a Bugatti W16 Mistral but as a track car or are we talking about the actual racing car class "Hypercar" wich races in Endurance Championships and LeMans?

  • I wonder why the V10? V8, V10, V12 all can sound great and produce amazing power and I will argue the providence of a V12, has more racing lineage and is generally considered, even more rarified air than a V10. We know the T50 has a screaming Cosworth V12 with as much rpm as they could provide Gordon Murray and the Aston Martin Valkery has the V12 too and I believe within 500rpm of the T50. I suspect the V10 is all about more RPM, 3k more than those Cosworth V-12’s offer. 50 examples, good god, I’m sure they’re all spoken for and have been for quite a time. They will be eye watering expensive for the initial purchaser but on the resale market, if and when that ever happens… with only 50 examples, they will be more than a McClaren F1, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest, could take a few years though.

    • Maybe power to weight ratio, but i suspect sound... He said it would sound like the mid 90"s F1 car, witch he loves clearly...
