In this vlog, we travel to Egypt to explore the last remaining site of the "seven wonders of the ancient world", the Giza Pyramids! When we step onto the Giza Plateau, we are awestruck by the size and magnitude of the pyramids and the mythical Great Sphinx. Our guide is an Egyptologist and gives us a guided tour of one of the greatest testaments to human achievement.
The pyramids were built nearly 5,000 years ago for the great kings of ancient Egypt. So many questions come to mind when we visit the pyramids - how were they built, who built them, and what was inside the chambers? Some of the answers we may never know....

The only 2 things to see there are the 3 pyramids and the museum. It can be done in one day. You can skip the tour guide and just get a hotel not far away from the pyramids, take a taxi to the two places and take off. Ask the Taxi Driver how much before you get in. You can get a tour guide, it's cheap but it's not necessary unless you want to go into the city. Might be best to have a guide if you do that. At the pyramids, do not talk to anyone who comes up to you. Avoid eye contact. He'll tell you he's with the police or some other nonsense, just walk away. At the pyramids, you have to buy 2 extra tickets to get into the two pyramids. At the museum you can take pictures, but you have to buy an extra ticket to do that because when you start taking pictures, security will come up you to make sure you have the permit ticket to do that.
When you go there don't talk to anyone who comes up to you. They're trying to get cash out of you.
@kevinhealey6540 do you recommend getting a tour guide? What is a good agency? Do you mean panhandle try to tax you money 💰? Why can't you take pictures
@@Menga213 You can take all the pictures you want. But for the museum you have to buy an extra ticket that permits you to do that. I think you're not supposed to take pictures inside the room in the pyramid. You can do it on the sly. Go to a travel agency and tell them you want a tour guide and they'll set it up. It does not cost that much. I mean they'll panhandle, sometimes try to steal from you, sometimes try to sell you something, con you or they'll come to you and tell you they're with the police to get money out of you. ( A uniformed cop is however something else) If somebody comes up to you, don't talk to him.

Do you prefer that I pay for a single tour package, or should I pay for individual day tours?
You can do either! We chose s package multi day tour because it helped with logistics. We visited multiple cities and it included the Nile cruise, admission to the temples. Some of the temples required special transportation. If you’re just doing Cairo, you can hire a guide so you will know what you’re viewing and learn the history.
Will they let you go inside any of the pyramids in Egypt (if it's possible)?
The large one in Giza yes, the rest not so much

You should have visited the pyramids in the afternoon instead of the early morning weather at night and early mornings is very cold
Pretty epic! We take for granted and don’t realize when they were living everything to them felt modern and they were living out their future. Isis Ra (Horus) and El hence IsRaEl. And I’m sure if you know Egyptian history or things we should of been taught in history such as where our words came from like horizon -Horus Rising (the ☀️ or son God) it’s where we get the word hours from and sun set or hours brother god of the moon Seth. Saturn day, sun day, moon day etc.

Rainfall is very low! The desert climate helped to preserve these structures.

How much is the camel ride?
it was around $20 USD for a 30 min ride
Honestly we don't have the faintest clue how these things were built. If they built it in 20 years 3 months a year and the biggest contains 2.3 million stones, it means they had to place in 1 stone per minute (if they worked 24 hours a day) with the precision of less than an inch margin for error, otherwise the structure wouldn't hold. Let alone how they carved out the stones so precisely that in the King's Chamber you can't pass a laser beam between 2 stones, how they got the stones up to over a 100 meters high, how they aligned the whole structure to the Earth's true North with less than half a degree precision etc. We have no idea how these things were made. We couldn't make any of them today.
I wish we could go back in time to see how they really built this. I bet it would blow our minds!

The pyramids were not built by Muslims, or slaves. There were no Muslims when they were built and there were no Jews. The pyramid builder Egyptians were polytheistic.
