  • Another amazing day in the beautiful Yemen, this country is breathtaking. I just posted a photo of the area with the football fields next to Yemen's Manhattan with the skyscrapers made of mud, see the photo here: instagram.com/p/CVsTG9rMkC0/ Love to Yemen.

    • Agreed, as a carpenter/ home builder in the United States, I find unique building styles around the world so insanely interesting. Whenever I travel to other countries okie of my favorite things to do is stop by construction sites and just observe how they do things. 90% of my work is just production framing. It’s the same basic designs slapped together with 2x4’s on top of a concrete slab day in and day out, so I love seeing different ways of constructing buildings around the wormd

    • Yemen consists of two Yemens, namely South Yemen, which consists of authentic Arab tribes from which the rest of the tribes of the Arabian Peninsula were formed. South Yemen is the first Arab country to open up to the Western, European and Russian outside world. It is a country with a lot of young cadres open to the outside world. South Yemen is a qualified and valid state to be a state like the rest of the countries that respect the rights of others to life, respect international conventions and preserve international shipping lines. While North Yemen has been a state since its founding, an arbitrary state run by a Zaydi lobby that controls and dominates all levers of power and wealth. North Yemen descended the origins of his sons to the Persians and Abyssinian. North Yemen consists of gypsy tribes that do not respect the rights of others in life and only believe in the logic of wars, murder, looting and intermittent plunder. Since its inception, North Yemen has never sought to be a sovereign state. Rather, the people of North Yemen are divided into three sections as follows: one third of the northern components follow Iran, one third follow Qatar, and the other third are silent. North Yemen is simply a semi-state because its sons are not qualified either scientifically, academically, or culturally. Rather, they do not have the minimum level of basic education. This was the policy of former President Saleh and the Yemeni Congregation for Reform Party (the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen). South Yemen is like South Korea like life and respect others lives and wanna provide something for the other societies whereas North Yemen like North Korea just like to kill the lives of others and like to fight and make life a piece of hell. This is the easiest definition from which you can understand the difference between the Two Yemens

  • One of my best friends from school when I was around eleven or twelve years old was a Yemeni lad Walid , his Mum n Dad were really lovely people, this was in the north of England , there is a big Yemeni community in South Sheilds. My friend Walid's brothers n sisters were just some of the nicest kids I'd ever met , I spent lots of time in their home and if you haven't eaten home coocked Yemeni food I can tell you it is fantastic ,,, beyond ,,,, delicious ,,, and they fed me lots being so hospitable as they were it was great as I was a hungry lad , shukran 😎 . Anyway they moved back home decades ago as far as I remember and we lost touch , I missed them and the food 😎but I always was sure they would be fine , until this started , I have trawled social media looking for them since the war started but no luck , so my message is to all my Yemeni Brothers and Sisters if you read this , if you see Walid or his Sister Suhai please tell them I am praying for them and all their family as I am for all of you dear brothers and sisters . Everything must end sooner or later and we pray this ends sooner , God bless all.

  • Stunning, landmark work Nick... Btw: When you first started and I found your channel, I sent a friend who spent decades traveling around the world with CIA your 'Buying a motorcycle in Vietnam', segment, and said: "This guy's going to end up with a million subscribers". He replied that Yemen was the most amazing place he had been, and that was a place you should visit. Quite and achievement you made it to the 1 million milestone and to Yemen together. 👍👍

    • @@IndigoTraveller Thank your for your incredible effort; it's providing more of a public service than as just entertainment, but a current and historical reference, and a value to the world from as a glimpse into the human side and costs to humanity. Btw, I sent that same person I previously mentioned your Yemen installments, which prompted him to reminisce about Yemen and him to say: "it got really nasty after I was there". He was there during the Obama regime, and I mentioned something about the conscience (or lack) of those who cause such human suffering and he seemed to take great personal offense. Perhaps your work will help in that regard as well.

  • Great work and very much appreciated. Quick note if I could. Yemeni architecture is unique but very complex and varied. So far the architecture featured in all 3 vids is all Hadhrami and there the material used is adobe 🧱 (sun baked bricks made of different types of soil, sand, water and other organic substances) it’s actually where we get the the English word from الطوب. Calling them mud does not do justice to the skyscrapers of the city of Shibam (the Manhattan of the desert) which feature building that have been erect for hundreds of years. Much respect to you and your team. Throughly enjoy your channel.
