    • Great video Cash! I love how Rachel added her own cozy improvements and upgrades to enhance her personal style of self. The shower head is insane! And the coffee table made me gasp😮. And the very fact that her landlord is not only supportive of her upgrades, but that he's not a financial vampire seeking more $ to keep her on as a SATISFIED AND HAPPY TENANT speaks volumes. I'm glad that Rachel is comfortable and happy in her SOLITUDE. I'm going to check out her channel and become her subbie. Blessed New Year everyone❣

Also, we never put stuff under the bed when i was growing up, however I grew up in a pre-war building that hadn't been chopped up to make more apartments, so we had space, closets, a pantry, and lots of cabinets in the kitchen. These apartments are just way too small for the price.

  • $1,900 for a livable NYC apartment that is well located and that doesn’t have to be shared with roommates AND on a 2 year plus 1 year extension is a godsend. People living in NYC tend to move often - chased out by rent increases. Moving expenses, first and last payments are a budget strain that she will not have for a couple of years. My guess is she has the kind of mom and pop landlord who will try to keep their tenant for many years. Mom and pops cherish reliable tenants.

    • Calling it studio+ is copium. It might be a nice tiny studio. But the average studio square footage is 500 sq. ft. Calling this + is just nonsense. It's half the size of most studio apartments.

    • @@Danny-gs5dvNot where I live. This is big for a studio. I've had friends who lived in studio apartments that were under 150 square feet (small town in Iowa, not a big city). When I visited a coworker at her studio apartment, it was 400 square feet and it looked huge compared to the other ones. And try married student apartments at the university; those places are minute and bare bones. This is luxurious by comparison.

  • I would probably get one of those dish drainers that is a frame you sit over the sink, as there is such limited counter space for prepping anything. I would also put a metal cover over the stove to make it usable for prepping as well. (This is me as a person who loves to cook; obviously not a priority for many people.) I do appreciate the little cart on wheels that can be moved into the kitchen space when needed. I would probably be storing my crockpot(s) and juicer on a shelf just to the right of the the fridge, and move the couch down a bit. And yes, the fridge doors would be less practical for use when actually cooking in the kitchen. Given the limited storage for the ingredients one would cook with, I"m guessing that the New Yorkers who DO cook go shopping right before they will cook and don't store ingredients in the fridge for long.

  • Not just under the bed, but under the couch has a ton of storage space. We took an older “pull-out bed” couch and removed the metal bar mechanism and mattress from the inside, leaving a large space under the cushion area that we filled completely with plastic totes of the correct height. When you put the cushions on top…it looked and felt like a regular couch, but was full of storage.
