We will show you the correct installation technology for 3M™ ultra-strong adhesive tape - «VHB» (Very High Bond ") and the sequence of actions.
The application process is not difficult, but it is important to follow the main rules and recommendations ⚠️
Many people underestimate the value of using surface preparation materials before bonding parts, but cleaning and priming are key to maximizing adhesion and bond strength 💪🏻.
Any surface: plastic, metal or glass has dirt, grease prints, even if we do not see them visually 👁️.
1️⃣ Therefore, first, we need to clean the two surfaces that we want to connect. The best solution would be to use isopropyl cleaner for degreasing, it comes in a pack that is ready to use right away.
2️⃣ After cleaning with the cleaner, wait ⏲️ ~ 1 minute and proceed to the next step - applying Primer 94.
We recommend applying Primer 94 in a thin layer in one direction (important nuance), then let it dry ⏲️ ~ 2-3 minutes.
When designing the structure 👷 proceed from the calculated load: 1 kilogram of weight per 60 cm² of VHB tape. So the tape is 12 mm wide and 5 meters long, will withstand 10 kg of weight.
After connecting the parts, 90-96% of strength comes after 24 hours, 100% reaches within the next 76 hours.
