Toyally agree. The fact that both made it to the final is awesome. They are both very talented. They both have the visuals, Ghelee is sexy and sweet; Eliza is cute and sunny. But they both have great vocals and compliment each other. I think it is also smart to have reps from the Philippines bc they will definitely get plenty of support outside of Korea. I get Hyoyeon's fixation on Gehlee tbh. She came from SM, an agency which values Vocals, Charisma and Visuals. She fits the SM standard perfectly. If sumth happens unexpectedly with the voting and she doesn't debut(which is a slim chance btw) she can go to SM.

Truth, ang alam ko sa SM they prioritize visual, stage presence and aura, cause they believe dancing and singing well can be taught to the max of their abilities. Kumbaga SM wants something you can't teach to others. Gehlee surely did have what SM needs.
I love Hyoyeon's trust on Gehlee's potential. She thinks like SM. Either singing or dancing can be improved and developed through training and experience, but charisma, aura, and total performer's attitude are some things you can't teach easily - it's a natural characteristic. Meanwhile, I also love Sejeong's objective and constructive criticism on Gehlee - it would help her grow and see her lacking.

I agree about hyoyeon’s pov in judging gehlee, very sm coded. For exampl as an ELF, I can say that Choi Siwon wasnt the best at performing but he can sing and act as a visual. But through the years, he improved bit by bit.

I just realised the reason why everyone around Gehlee likes to help her. Aside from her personality, Gehlee is someone worth being supported because you know your effort wont be wasted on her, whenever she receives some kind of help she always delivers and SLAYS! Thats why people are so drawn to her. Cant wait for their debut.

I understand Sejeong she has been a witness of several survival shows where beauty is highly valued which should not but she should know that talent before beauty never works it always works out as charm then talent. But Gehlee is a different case, she only fell short in dancing which can eventually improve, she deserves to debut.
And her dancing isn't even that bad, I mean, Hyoyeon is pushing the narrative to put her higher, Hyo is the dancer here. They also know you cant teach charisma. That's why they were so torn.

She only started to improve on their vocal performance in which you can see that her stiffness is lessened, moves are still constricted, but overall she was able to perform in such an elegant way. I gotta say she’s pretty ok now for idol dancing. I agree on the rest

@@taeqxc898 i'm a Gehlee fan, but that is my observation. I'm not talking about talent or comparing who's better not. It's the similarity. But I agree to your point that she has exemplary aura. Just like Younha said. No one is like Gehlee when it comes to aura. And Hyoyeon confirms that, that she's too charismatic just by standing and doesnt do anything.
Even the contenders acknowledged her charisma. Despite her limited understanding of the language, she can absolutely radiate the meaning in her expressions.
The thing is that whatever group she's in, they push her to be the center, no jealousy or hate, just to obtain the goal of winning. And her choosing Vocals over Visuals is a wise choice. Look who she's grouped with.

Hyoyeon might be seeing her younger self in Gehlee. In Girls' Generation, Hyo is one of the 3 queens of dancing but she had a rough first 3 years because of how fans thought she didn't take care if her skin more. Hyo is also the lead rapper sharing rapping duties with Sunny and sometimes Sooyoung. Hyo became a polished and refined performer as the years went by. SNSD would be the perfect mentors for Gehlee and her fellow contestants.

@@heavensky8706 Most Korean idols can't really sing, they don't really focus on singing dynamics and techniques but rather image branding and visuals. Also, in terms of singing, they don't use original voice, more like auto-tune and they have the same style of hitting the notes. I noticed that when they wanted a high note, it didn't sound like they were using breathing control and that sometimes the way they sing sounds like they are shouting in a thin squeaky voice. It feels like they are just covering a song. That's why the expectation is different from reality. In the studio, their voices are edited too much so when they sing in live it's a lot different.
@@Frodoooows I've been saying this for the longest time and I'm so glad I'm not the only one. You can pretty much tell when they show recording sessions before production how throaty they sound most of the time then suddenly it becomes clean on stage. I'm sure there are actually good ones out there like sejeong for example but they're a minority bc even their speaking voices are nasally and drawing strength from the throat.
@@Frodoooows I agree that when it comes to singing, the recording is different in live performances, which is disappointing, and I don't understand why filo kpop fans like them when, in fact, Filipinos have a higher standard in terms of singing. But if a Korean has good visual singing at their front, they like it even though they sing averagely and, at worst, they lyp syncing or use auto-tune in concert. Kpop is not that big in the west; I just realized they are big in some Asian countries, especially the Philippines, when I see the data of the highest listener per country of KPOP, and I am disappointed at how the heck Filipinos with lots of great singers and a high standard of singing are in love with KPOP music when in fact we are better than them in singing. But I guess we need to adopt, but I don't know how because Filipinos don't want to support PPOP, even though they make great music.

I loved that shes a beauty queen, it helped her to developed those walks, good posture, charm and smizing. Kim Hyoyeon saved the entire panel of judges from making a big mistake of eliminating Gehlee. The girl has an X-factor and a likeable aura which are sooo hard to find in a celebrity nowadays. True that most of the contestants got loads of talent unfortunately no charisma and very forgettable. Gehlee got the talent needed enough for her to make it to the final 8. With proper training, she'd absolutely be an asset to the team they're creating. Kudos to Ms. Hyoyeon for being an excellent judge.❤ Goodluck to Unis!❤
