As always, you provide the internet with excellent and practical information; many thanks. 🙂👍👍 One of my best friends bought a nihonto in Kyoto, this very morning; a late Edo wakizashi, with... no signature! But a really excellent saya with kosuga(and kogatana) and wari-kogai.

It says “if you insist on reading this, you are a jackass.” But I’m sure it sounds much more beautiful in Japanese.

Could you please show me the signature on this particular sword and others, I find it fascinating to see the signatures in other details that are often put on the tang.

Always thought it was interesting with the fake signatures or how some blacksmiths only knew how to do their signature on the blade

I wonder if there are any famous sword Makers who before they became well known tried to pass off one of their swords as a sword from a more famous and establish sword maker in the beginning? I’d love to have one of these because it would basically be a forgery from a master swordsman of another master swordsman before that master swordsman became famous or popular! Wow that kind of hurt my head.
