  • Interesting route out of Killin. I live in Balquhidder so do Glen Ogle railway then fast tarmac down to Lix Toll and Killin then back on the NCN 7 when I fancy a "quickie" with a coffee at Shutters. Never thought of doing it your way so I'll check that out next dry day. I've also done Glen Kendrum then back over Glenoglehead. All my rides on the Roubaix SL7 with 26mm road tyres. Killin to Ben Lawers is my favourite ride. From Bridge of Balgie either west up or east down Glen Lyon is another of my favourites.

  • Great video! Quality, editing and content are awesome. I now have a new bucket list destination. Particularly loved the rails to trail portion.

  • Nice one. Hadn’t thought about the extra loop (as usually get distracted by mhor 84..can recommend their eggs Benedict and sour dough toast)… 😋

  • Did this route last Saturday on emtb hardtail. Great run but beware, the pull up to the bealach above Glen Kendrum is very rough and you have to pick your line carefully through the ruts and rocks. We decided to head back to Killin on the disused railway rather than go back up to the head of Glen Ogle but when we reached the road there was no sign of the track on the other side so wound up taking the road. Took us almost 3 hours with a number of photo and snack stops.

    • Cheers! The cycling is the easy bit. Filming and editing is way harder 😄

  • Loving your videos Richard. Did the Callander to Aberfoyle loop last week after seeing it on your channel. Was a brilliant day. One thing though, it's not always obvious the exact area where you start or where you park your car. Can you add this onto your videos? Plus any coffee or lunch stops that you come across would be really useful (if you use any). Thanks and keep up the great work. 👍

    • Cheers Kevin, glad you liked the route! Excellent feedback - I will be sure to try to add some info on lunch/coffee stops for sure in the future.

  • Thanks for sharing this route.👍Seeing your footage and listening to your commentary just makes me super exited as I'm heading over to Scotland from South Australia in June and will be bringing my gravel bike to tour around with me. You've captured the scenery so well. Will certainly be putting this one on my list. 👏🏻

  • I'm doing the Badger Divide in a month or so, so good to see part of the route plus the knowledge that worse-case I can always go low level on the RRW out of Killin,

  • Just randomly found the channel today. As others have said, great quality filming. Is footage 100% GoPro, do you have favourite mounts? I’d love to recommend some routes but I’m based in South Korea 🇰🇷 but I’ll give you a follow on Komoot 💚 and have subbed here. Cheers

    • That's crazy how far this video has spread - usually it's a few hundred views bit this one must have pleased the algorithm and it's gone mad! Thanks so much for subscribing, a S. Korea route would be amazing but slightly beyond my budget currently 😅. It is all GoPro footage, I might do a little thing about the mounts I use and how I film, might be interesting to some people.

    • @@RustyRidesGravel thanks for the reply, routes are all on my profile should you wish to look. Budget aside, Korea is awesome for cycling. Aside from thousands of KM’s of dedicated (mostly uninterrupted) long distance cycling path, road cycling is also huge here and being a very hilly geographically makes it all the more dramatic. You won’t regret a visit. Gravel is slowly filtering in popularity and in hindsight I would have purchased a gravel bike solely because outside of large cities, road quality can be extremely variable and I yearn to hit some of the less accessible paths. Would definitely appreciate a video on your filming / mount set up.

  • Do you have the gpx files for this. Looks epic

    @rossalisdair3208@rossalisdair3208 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi, the routes are on komoot (link in the video description), so you can get the gpx from there if you have the paid version. Otherwise, you can grab the collection for a quid on buymeacoffee and get all the routes as gpx from the region in a pack. Hope that helps 👍

  • No, the railway was scrapped by Westminster, as it did with countless other Scottish lines, cutting off vital rural connections. Glad to see English people can now use it as their playground. 'Rockfall '...yeah, just like the Highlands were cleared of its people because of the weather.
