  • If you don’t have strength to move their hand behind their back, you can also try pinning the hand to the mat, moving your whole body sideways (which in turn will place opponents pinned hand behind their back) and then passing their hand to your other hand

  • I love this pass. My coach teaches it a little different. Instead of head on the mat we base the head on their chin. It’s super uncomfortable. We also sprawl the hip down with force. A lot of times the guard breaks from the sprawl along with the discomfort of the head on the chin.

I’ve found out that as soon as they trap that arm I can scoot my body under at an angle like I’m going for a flower sweep and sweep over my left shoulder since their right arm is also trapped.

  • Or you can put your other hand on their elbow after passing their hand. Set yourself and push up while also scooting hips back and get the tap. If they don’t tap then they’ll break their guard and you can then roll them into behind the back Kamura immediately after the pass. At least I hope I explained that well enough to understand.

  • It’s a very good pass but it can be dangerous. My good friend who was a real Jiujitsu addict quit the sport, after he got a shoulder injury from a hesvy guy 50kg heavier than him using this pass. Tore his shoulder from it & it left him unable to work for months. I know, many moves are dangerous In Jiujitsu but be careful using this one. Yes, he tapped due to the pain but it was so quick, it was too late.

  • Does anyone know of a counter to this once the arm is trapped behind the back?

    @insamsitive@insamsitive3 ай бұрын
  • Once you trap the arm behind their back, keep positive control of that wrist and also, grab the trapped arms elbow on the opposite side with your free hand. Lower your butt to the mat and push with your hands to extend your back and body toward their feet. Theyll either let go or kimura themselves. Once they let go, make sure you flatten out on the and kick your legs out and go to side control, then mount. You could stop there but i like to keep the handcuff and get a sub. So, with the handcuff from mount i will roll over and pull them on top of me and put them in my closed guard. Then you just pull up on that trapped arm. It is veeeeery easy to do in the gi, esp if you get a good grip on their sleeve.

    @SilverStarGG@SilverStarGG2 ай бұрын
    • Monkey grip is normally since the thumb in a C grip would stop their wrist from going up but that's hard thing to do in the position their arm is in anyways. A monkey grip will provide more strength going down. Which is where they want to position their hand to escape.
