It heals different when the only reason why Aerith picked a medic/support role, is because she couldn't find one when needed... Everyone needs healing, yet nobody "plays" support...
This feels too real lol. It's true, and it still is even in FF14 people usually are still in need of healers.
Aerith's scene affected me on a visceral level. It wasn't simply sad to watch. Having the player control a child trying to find help in an uninterested crowd was devastating.
“What about our adventure?” wrecked me. If I think about for too long I’ll start balling.
100% i actually cried during this scene, crazy a video game can do that, cant even remember the last time I had a reaction like that to a real movie, the scene was so heart breaking, the writers deserve a medal, it touched every inch of my soul.........
Just a reminder that Hojo is directly responsible for both Red XIII's and Aerith's flashbacks. Confronting him in the third part is going to be so cathartic.
Especially he created Sephiroth, too. Its all Dr. Hojo's fault.
I Would Like To See Avalanche Go Through A Cereza Route Where The Adult Versions (Except Barrett) Help Their Younger Selves Prevent Certain Events From Happening And That Way Things Can Be Different And Not The Same Timeline

@@naturalwizard1441 It’s definitely a tug at the heart strings, and to force the player to go through it is all the more painful, but again, it’s not as painful as losing a body part while your entire town is destroyed. To be fair, Aerith has her entire world rocked with the death of her mother and gets hunted down for the most part.

Aerith went through pain and sadness when she was a kid and the speech she gave them because she knows what happened to them and shares their sadness, pain, and loss because she went through it too.
It's sad that Aerith suffered like this. Her dad was killed when she was a baby, and her mom died before her eyes. She lived with Shinra surrounding her, had her first love, and then he left her for 5 years. She started to find new love, and then she died watching her new love crying over her, she couldn’t do anything, but she was happy that he came, this is really sad!
Little Aerith is so mature..it hurts seeing her perspective. She's just a child...
All were painful in their own right but Barrett and Aerith hit hard. It’s clear in a second how much Barrett loves and misses his wife, to him bloody with one arm audibly sobbing over her. And when little Aerith started crying, I started crying 😭

Nanaki's memory... was so gruesome and sad. Yuffie's made me feel little. Aerith's made me feel helpless, and scared as she was forced to be mature enough to navigate around without her Mom. Barret nearly made me lose it all together. And Tifa's is always heartbreaking....

Barret's VA really killed it. That was honestly one of the best Voice Actings I have ever heard. He sounds so broken and defeated and angry and sad all at the same time.
If you do Intergrade's extra mission; Yuffie's trial makes more sense that Sonon's death had a greater impact on her. And she still feels blame for not being able to escape with him.
What a Awful Life everybody of them has. Cloud can't remember complety. But his Past is brutal too. His Village got burned, his Mother died infront of him, Hojo done experiments to him for 5 Year's and his best Friend died before his Eyes. Vincent's Past is awful too. Only Cid in the OG has it good. Let's see how they change him. There must be more then: Well could not get into Space.
Seen Aerith's in the flashback and all.....but Jesus that hit hard watching this one.
God, they know how to make Aerith's segment feel far more painful than all the rest. Perhaps because feeling helpless is a universal feeling. Especially as a child. I choked up at her segment while all the others don't seem to hit as hard.

Nanaki’s and Barret’s… hurt so much… Aerith’s was BY FAR the most heartwrenchingly painful.
Aerith’s was so sad and makes you empathize with her bad luck in life even more. Red’s just hurt. He’s such a jolly boy at heart. Seeing his GS date was endearing as hell. Then watching as he’s diminished to a lab rat and feeling his fear and panic. Poor boy.. ‘Those Who Fight Further’ indeed.. 😢
Heavy Spoiler about Cloud Past: . . . . . . . . Is interesting that Cloud shares nearly a bit of the traumas with everyone, Losed his hometown like Barret & Tifa, Experimented by Hojo like Red & Vincent, Lost his mom like Aerith, Tifa & Red, lost his partner friend like Yuffie and Barret, couldn't achieve his dream like Cid, Blamed by the people of his town like Barret , and then what he fears most the Geostigma and His Mind deterioration I don't even know how he is still holding up... Perhaps of an innocent promise in his childhood? Can't wait for that moment in Part 3, they could add moments of Cloud sympathizing with the rest of the gang, kinda like when he tried to help Yuffie because both have motion sickness
Wow man.. chills.. I never realized this. His name honors his suffering.. Cloud Strife. Poor guy. I just want him to be happy by the end of part 3. Not just defeating Sephiroth and thats it. Nothing less than under the Highwind with his Final Fantasy will suffice. In all seriousness though. I hope they make it so that the party finally understands what he went through and how he relates to all of them. Finally accepting him wholeheartedly as the ‘party leader’ People can say what they want but the Remake project came with so much good. That it easily outshines the bad. I feel sorry for the people that deprive themselves of it do to idolization of the OG

This really reinforces why I love Aerith as a character so much. I know in the OG and most likely part 3 Tifa will be the one whom help Cloud out in the memory fixing his memory. To me Aerith should have been credited maybe not so much in the OG Bsc how the story is played out (she still played a big role) but here you keep seeing her mentioning “I want to find the real you, focus on you Cloud” she trying goddamnit the game made sure we knew of that.
I’m pretty sure once we get to that part of the game. Aerith will make some kind of appearance unlike the OG. I think the empty materia helps cloud see Aerith
Seeing this reminds me that the entire party has all suffered because of shrina and hojo so its no surprise that everyone hated shrina man does this make me cry😭.

Cloud's Memorys are gone. At this Point he not even a "Soilder" anymore. Sephiroth/Jenova has him complety in his Hand. He dosen't care 1% anymore about Life or his Friends.
I don't think even if Aerith's death scene had been faithfully recreated 1-1 from the original it would eclipse the absolute despair I was met with in Aerith's trial. It completely wrecked me for days, whereas even when I was younger Aerith's death made me go through several stages of grief over a much longer period of time, because it was so shocking and seemed so unlikely.
It was such a risky decision for square not to include the burial and the skewer scene. But i think it was intentional. Because it will not hit the same emotional impact as the OG because that moment it was unexpected. It was out of nowhere. You can’t recreate the same feeling as the OG. I myself wanted to see the recreation of that scene but, they do a risky and good job to amplify Cloud’s character and revisited that scene in the next game. And i am confident that square can handle that since that trial from Aerith is so beautiful that i feel devastated.
All of them were painful to watch, but what was worst was Yuffie and Aeirth's past. Also, Aeirth's speech, literal tears, and I hate crying. 😭
Everyone’s past sucks. Tifa lost her mom and later her village and dad. Aerith lost her dad, freedom, and later her mom. Cloud lost his dad and later his mom and village. Barret lost his best friend, his wife, and his town. Nanaki lost his freedom and became an experiment. Vincent lost his love and became an experiment who can’t age. And I can’t even begin to describe Sephiroth’s past.
Nah Red XIII getting tortured and Little Aerith trying to help her dying mother was fucking hard to watch.

It's stunning that Cloud didn't face his deepest, darkest fears. I can't blame him. Cloud watched his mother die; Zack died, Hojo's test subject, and Aerith died. Maybe in part 3, Cloud will finally put his demons to bed.
I mean, it's obviously going to be in Part 3. That's a huge endgame plot point.

I could write endlessly about how sad these all are. But as a huge animal lover, Nanaki's really hurt me the most. Because it's the harsh reality, animals are treated like that on a daily basis, they get slaughtered for food and experimented on like him in this scene and thats why I felt extremely sad.

Seeing aeriths backstory is the first time ive cried in a video game since the walking dead season 1
sucks they could not show all of tifa's painful past because it'd conflict with the 3rd game, would have been cool if they showed her post nibelheim struggles from the book though, those were tough times A little more on tifa’s past: You wont see much of the scar because the doctors did skin graft surgery on her. she says it here how many days she was operated on. Tifa was in such bad shape zangan had to keep casting cure on her over and over again the whole trip to find a doctor, he also ended his career as a master because of that ordeal, so can you imagine the condition tifa was left in? I hope in 3rd game when tifa heals clouds mind they also explain tifas side because she deserves none of the hate, it's strictly due to bad delivery. In the book tifa also got sexually exploited, she has a dark past, you hear her mention it very rushed in remake and this game because she does not want to put her burdens on others. for her to show her scar to cloud is extremely vulnerable for her character. I think thats why she cries and runs off. She has been through incredible trauma. Shes trying her hardest to figure out her own memories and HELP cloud at the same time. she is written as a self sacrificing heroine to help the hero out until the end. A lot of her past isnt shared but shes also responsible for taking marlene and barret off of living in the streets, same way she helped cloud in the beginning of remake.
Didn't Cloud put her into one of the pods in the original to keep her from dying before he threw Sephiroth into the reactor?
There's still an entire third part coming up, hopefully they explore this a little more once they are able to reveal Cloud's past.
Tifa actually is a supporter character. Main heroine is Aerith. She is the face of the game after Cloud and Sephiroth. But yeah seeing more of her past would be great! Also Shaluas Sacrifice for her sister, Reeve and Denzel.
@@Matagu1 That's true but that doesn't mean she doesn't deserve a good backstory. We know there's more, because it was there in the OG. But they couldn't reveal everything because a few details were changed/kept hidden longer and revealing Tifa's past would be a reveal of Cloud's past as well.
I’d hardly call having your medical pictures of your breasts shown to another woman as ‘sexually exploited’ if thats what you refer to. The rest is true, very depressing reading how life suddenly went from idealic village life to struggling in the slums. No wonder the day Cloud came back into her life made such a strong impact and re invigorated her.
Aerith's Past Scene hurts way more than her death scene in Rebirth. For a good reason.

This game did such an amazing job of fleshing out the characters and story. Some things were unnecessary, but in this scene particular, I really started thinking about the following : Nanaki - Nanaki’s heritage initially lined him up to be sworn protector of cosmo canyon, the center of Gaia’s planetology. Throughout the entire game we hear and see the effects of Shinra on the planet. What really hit home was seeing Shinra capture, as well as torment, Nanaki while referring to him as a Specimen. All that to say, while he is a “child” nonetheless. It really symbolizes Shinra disregard towards violating the planet. Barrett : We all knew he lost his arm, but holy shit. Playing as Barrett with a recently severed arm while discovering his wife died gave me another layer of understanding him as a character. We know that he cares about saving the planet, but that scene really highlighted how personal it was. It was painful how he barely got to say hi to his wife before transitioning to being armless in the Corel wreck. That’s how life seems operate sometimes though, important events changing things at a moments notice. Imagine how much more he would have said to his wife if he had longer than a few seconds, orrrrrr if she never died in the first place. Aerith as a child in Midgar really circled back on how cold and dystopian midgar & shinra are. She’s walking through sector 5 asking for a medic, and the people either don’t care or they don’t have any methods of helping. We see Shinra guards walking around the station where Ilfana died. The cities security doesn’t even offer protection or aide when they see citizens dying. We all already know protecting Shinra is their first priority, but damn, they’re not even obligated to help a citizen dying on the street. I think Tifa’s story has already been well explained for decades so anything new they would have added there would have been unnecessary. Yuffie is an optional character still in my mind, I really enjoy playing as her, but I really don’t need a random backstory as well as I kinda liked back when she was less involved but still quirky when around. The wutai arch could be cool as long as they do it right. All in all - I’m gonna be in my thirties soon, I played the original before hitting 10, back then the graphics were considered outdated but the story GRIPPED me. All that to say, I’ve lived with the anticipation of this remake for the Majority of my life. The delivery has been an incredible thing to witness and experience. RIP to the people who loved the original and never got to experience this.

After watching Barrett’s trial, shinra needs to die a fast death with no torture involved when we get to part 3 This was probably the deepest cutscenes I have ever seen in this series. Aerith was speaking the truth about life and death and our sprits still living on after our bodies disappear. We all feeling pain at some point in our lives, Man this was some deep shit😢
Maybe it's a good thing that Cloud didn't remember Zack's real death yet at that point, or the fact that he was also once Hojo's lab rat, he definitly would have had another breakdown if he were to relieve those kind of flashbacks, especially the one with Zack, which was literally the reason why he uncousciously repressed his own memories of Zack's death that were too traumatic for his mind at that time

I think what hurts me most about Yuffie's trial is her trial is literally so fresh. It hasn't been very long since Nero took Sonon away. I guess you could say it's only been a few mere DAYS or a couple of weeks at most. I don't think she has processed or grieved her loss of Sonon whom she bonded to very quickly as we saw in Intergrade.

He does but he's not ready to face them. He's still struggling to put the puzzle pieces together what really happened and until then there's nothing to face when you're in denial and your body shuts down memories and hides/alters them as a ptsd response. I expect the last chapter to focus on that part a bit, so far we haven't seen a few scenes from the OG.

Most of Cloud's painfull memories are still repressed, and I think the scenario had to find a way to not making him go through the same trials as the others because imagine if that could have been what makes Cloud remembers Zack's real death ? The main reason why his mind is broken and repressing so many painfull memories in the first place ? He would only have had a breakdown, at this point in the story Cloud's mind is still more fragile than the others I think

Honestly the writers of this game are so much better than a typical movie story they managed to tie six stories into one with these endings, I was mad I didnt get Aerith on the Ferris wheel despite my best efforts, but the trial scene blew my mind I sat there with my girlfriend and just wallked through it and watched, such an epic story!!!

Aerith’s trial was absolutely gut wrenching
Cloud’s test comes later in the future.
If he was tested right then and there, he wouldn't have made it out of there. Right now he is a ball of issues no one should have had to go through - an inferiority complex that kept building up since childhood, becoming Nibelheim's pariah, leaving to try and become a hero like Sephiroth, not being able to make it in SOLDIER, instead being relegated to an infantry grunt. Meeting Zack was one of his highlights in his life, until he went back to Nibelheim with him and Sephiroth, seeing his hero become insane, his hometown burning down, seeing Tifa with a serious injury, then being experimented on for five years, and the moment he wakes up, he sees Zack lying in his own blood, passing his dreams and legacy onto him alongside his sword... It's easy to clown on Cloud to pretend to be somebody he's not, but if you manage to lose everything you have TWICE, your psyche has to be in a poor state. Entering the trial would have him relive all that with no filters, nor Tifa to guide him through this.
Tthose OG purists who think the remake is bad have no understanding of what FF7 is about.
Before running your r3tarded mouth know what we're even talking about in the first place god damn loser. Everyone of us OG lovers who was open to a remake wanted additional character development and extra scenes telling more about what had happened to the characters. Scenes like this above is what we wanted stoopid mf brat. Unlike trash like you we don't accept everything blindly in Remake and Rebirth for example the ending scene of the Temple of the Ancients which was a total joke, atrocious and Cid did not need to be there at all. Shiet like that m0rons like you will eat up blindly when the scenes needs to be redone completely.
I think it's mostly great, it fleshes out FFVII's characters and world extremely well. I'm just personally not a fan of the multiverse plot.
It's always the people who know the least about ff7 complaining about changes. These people who whine about it usually don't even remember 20% of the dialogue in OG ff7, a lot of the lines said by aerith reinforce and potentially explain a lot of the weird shit happening in the remake/rebirth timeline. They usually don't know anything about the extended universe past crisis core either, outside of the questionable writing in AC / CC / Dirge, the compilation is great. The events of remake/rebirth/part 3 have been planned for AGES too....
@@linkshunter608Their biggest issue is replaying the game every year for the last two decades. The game is no longer a game. And whats good is no longer good but exceptional. They revere and idiolize while clinging to their comfort food so to speak. This makes it so that any change is horrifying to them. The OG had the benefit of leaving allot up to self interpretation because of how abstract it all was. World map, blocky lego characters, simple dialogue. You could see anything in there that you wanted, like reading a book. I’ve seen OG purist complain for example the Remake series is to anime. Thats an insane take to make and really shows how the PSX games allowed the reader to just imprint what they wanted. Meanwhile to me when I now rewatch parts of the OG. I’m shocked how little characterization there is. And how empty and hashed some of the payoff is. Its because the games are simple text bubble games so its fine. But the Remake series has blown life into them and has made them real and believable. I only played the OG 3 times or so. So I can let go easily. Maybe play it on my phone for fun as a pocket version of the Remakes. But tell that to someone who has played it 20+ times.. 😂
Aerith and Barret had the best ones, they hit the hardest.. especially Aerith's. Red's was good to see since it's something new we haven't seen and you can't just help but feel for what he had to go through because of Hojo and the experiments, Yuffie's was a little stale (maybe I need to actually play Intergrade to fully feel it), Tifa's was boring.. only because how many times have we seen it? They should've done something new for her, like.. losing her mother, the incident at the bridge, or her surgery. Something we haven't seen! I guess losing her dad was most traumatic for her.

It's almost a joke to see Aerith care about Tseng. Yes I know she said she didn't hate him, while acknowledging that he was terrible. I would have literally cheered and doubted my side after Sephiroth did this.

Tseng isnt dead, at least never shown until the end of Rebirth, it seems that doctor takes care of him because Rufus wouldnt let Hojo give his "magical" healing to him. In AC he lives

I am not a fan of Aerith, but watching their tragic pasts and Cloud just standing there really pissed me off.

It was supposed to be a trial, but it didn't seem like any big deal.
The trial was whether they could handle re-experiencing their saddest memories, or something like that.

Cloud is a bit of a jerk in this part of the game. He gets a TON better in the OG around the end of Disc 2 / beginning of Disc 3 (won't say specifics for spoiler reasons).
His mind is a total mess bro, this remake version even did my boy dirtier
