Ep. 367
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Dr. James Lindsay break down how Marxism evolved from a singular ideology into a genus, spawning many oppressor/oppressed dogmas across modern culture such as equity, critical race theory, and queer theory. They trace these sub-Marxist doctrines back past fundamental narrative into the theological realm, and detail their utility in the acquisition of power. Dr. Peterson and Dr. Lindsay also discuss the Grievance Studies Affair, of which Dr. Lindsay was a co-author and which casts a spotlight on the Marxist capture of our academic and scientific institutions.
An author, mathematician, and political commentator, Dr. James Lindsay has written eight books spanning a range of subjects including education, postmodern theory, and critical race theory. Dr. Lindsay is the founder of New Discourses, an organization dedicated to shining the light of objective truth in subjective darkness. Dr. Lindsay is the co-author of “Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity―and Why This Harms Everybody” and the author of “Race Marxism,” as well as, “The Marxification of Education.” Dr. Lindsay has been a featured guest on Fox News, Glenn Beck, Joe Rogan, and NPR, and he has spoken at the Oxford Union and the EU Parliament.

We need to get a law passed that makes it illegal to read Marxist tracts and books, word for word, for anyone who refuses to embrace and celebrate Marxism. How about a death penalty for criticizing Marxism? Oh, Red Terror has always been a core part of Marxism. Lenin, Trotsky, and Stalin agreed. I think Marx favored mass killing too.

    • Keep in mind that narcissism is when empathy is replaced with entitlement. I suppose one would think of a devouring parent when pathological narcissism sacrifices their own children to the glorification of their compassion - example: “Saturn Devouring His Son” by Francisco Goya depicts the Greek myth of the Titan, who fears that he would be overthrown by one of his children, so he ate each one of his children upon their birth." There is probably even a connection between the Satanic Poetry of Marx and the goals of the adversary, who seems to be the ultimate narcissist. Even the similarity between demons and narcissists probably has a common origin. Perhaps Marx's satanic poetry had something to do with power acquisition related to the adversary's rebellion in the Garden of Eden? You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Ezekiel 28: 13-15 (NIV) A tyrant's cruel treatment of citizens is evidence of wickedness, while literary antagonists like Shakespeare's Lady Macbeth and Voldemort from the Harry Potter series display their wickedness through many vicious actions. Wickedness is generally considered a synonym for evil or sinfulness. Among theologians and philosophers, it has the more specific meaning of a profound evil committed consciously and of free will. It can also be considered the quality or state of being wicked.

  • It really clicked for me when Lindsay said Marxism may very well be an heretical offshoot of Christianity through Hegel and in turn through Marx. That's the religious aspect I've felt all along through these post modern ideologies. I've been learning so much since 2020 and can finally understand and follow these conversations fully. I often get the side eye when I go into these topics because Marxism is very hard to explain and discuss with people without sounding like a lunatic. This has freed my mind.

I remember James speaking about the feminist/environment years back because it reminded me when my son had to endure this exact "theory" as a "lesson" once for his science class. When he came home and told me this "fact" I spoke to the teacher about bringing in the opposing view to this for the kids to discuss what they think and can this be qualified as true. I was pegged that I was an advocate for misogyny! That wasn't my position. I was just so baffled that this was being taught as science!

    • I made this point in a separate comment: this is the first time with the many JP interviews I've seen where his interruptions really are a drag on the whole conversation. Sometimes his interjections expand the talk but most often in this case it's just him dragging a fascinating conversation back down to his typical interests, logos, religion, axioms. Poor JL - who we've all come to here to see - has to sit patiently and wait till he can speak again. Just like us. I wish JP had been more respectful. And silent.

    • NICE timestamping for others. I understand Lindsay is a mathematician who as an exercise tried to reverse engineer academic papers and wrote many “fakes” successfully. Almost like “mapping” the content of what get approved-then he determined which “words” meant pretty much the same thing - almost like a linguistic factor analysis that takes language and tries to treat the concepts as factors - I think a factor analysis model is more apt than “genus / species” but there isn’t really a way to map English to math - yet - which AI might “try”. Key issue between math and English - I say is no mathematicians argue about what an “=“ is - but the powerful will negotiate what “is” is to its benefit. Control the language. I disagree that it’s a theological infrastructure - it’s a “POWER” hierarchy - not a COMPETENCY one. Maybe a theological infrastructure implies DOGMA you cannot question but behind that is POWER decides - not “you”

John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Matthew 4:17 KJV From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

  • This was one of the very best conversations I’ve ever listened to - I’m now a James Lindsay fan and will be delving into his work. I’ll be listening to this one again!

    • Dr. Lindsay has a huge rabbit hole to go down. I think the most important ones to get as a foundation are the explanation of Hegel, Marxism as religion, and his series exposing how both are Hermetic and Gnostic, and what that means practically. That's 20 hours of listening right there. After you get that down everything makes more sense

You have woken up, become illuminated it the true sense of the wor(l)d, not the corrupted inverted meaning. But true illumination that only comes with the courageous and relentless pursuit of the true, the good and the beautiful. Dem Wahren, Schoenen, Guten. Best to both of you, Dave.

    • @@Rocksteady246 you know fine well. Besides why should anybody be without fault? But character assassination is much easier than actually refuting what either have said so why not give a shot? Peterson taught at Harvard University and Lindsay is a mathematician with a PhD from Tennessee university. These are impressive academic credentials, moreover Lindsay with Pluckrose and Boghossian authored the so called Sokal squared hoaxes which showed how corrupted certain fields in academia have become (the grievances studies). Their conversation was fascinating since Lindsay has evolved from the new Atheist movement to critique the degeneration of the left with its obsession with identity politics. A new totalitarian impulse has made its way into the mainstream - just look how JK Rowling or Kathleen Stock have been treated. If in doubt listen to Konstantin Kisin Even in my field (dentistry) I have seen the infiltration of CRT.
