Awesome design.. I just finished paying off my $75k tiny house loan few days ago. 48k was the tiny house and the rest was for the land development, septic and water well, I tell you what it sure does feel good to pay off the loan completely. You feel like a heavy weight is lifted off your shoulder. You cannot put a price tag on the financial freedom

This is one of the first tiny homes that I could actually see myself living in! I love the kitchen, the living room with the comfortable couch and screen projector, the bathroom with the bathtub, the spot for the washer and dryer, and I loved the concept of the walkway to the bathroom. Great video!
I think Shayes Tiny house designs are the best ones I’ve seen. All her designs are really nice. Lots of storage space. An upstairs where people can fully stand up (no need to crawl into loft space etc).
She is like a magician 🪄😉💫

@@buddymccormack8668 exactly! I like all of her designs. One thing I love about hers is the amount of wardrobe/closet space in the main bedrooms. I always look at that in any tiny house. The bathrooms in her designs are always nice too. More often than not she has 2 upstairs bedrooms as well. Very well thought out and they look a decent size. She’s in the process of doing some bigger TH’s (length wise) so I’m intrigued to see what they look like once they’re done.
We really love being able to stand up there! We’ve stayed in other tiny homes before getting ours and that was on the list to not crawl into bed!

And how lovely that Shaye is now partnering with a North American builder! Her tiny house was certainly a beauty that I think many people have admired. Love your house...!!! If you get a new fridge, I would get the fridge part on top, and the freezer on the bottom. You generally open the fridge more.

You could build a stand with drawer under fridge. It would raise the fridge and provide out of sight storage for dog food etc.

Nice comunity you live in I would love the trails ,Nice layout for you folk's and pets , Simple design nice and bright lots of storage .
FOR THE HOMEOWNER - you mentioned ..one thing you would change if you could ....the fridge situation...one idea ...you could buy a dedicated fridge ..instead of the fridge/freezer combo ...and ..in the place where you have your "tricky oven"(versus your small and functional air/fryer/toaster oven)...you could remodel the cabinet under the "tricky oven"...to have that area under the oven ...be a bit shorter(if cabinet was shortened, doors could be repurposed, just cut bottom of doors shorter as needed..to accommodate a dedicated countertop freezer on top of the cabinet where your "tricky oven" is now..which I think looks like it would almost fit there ...but you might need another 3 inches or so extra height there ..hence might need to alter the cabinet under the "tricky oven". alternatively...when you sort out your outdoor space ...you could make an enclosed bear-proof cabinet, and place an upright or chest freezer outside . also fridge cubby area you could try to seek a stand alone fridge without freezer that can take the full height of that cubby ,,, anyways,,just brainstorming ,,,and love this standing loft model. I first saw it on a new zealand builder's personal home , and loved the catwalk between the 2 loft areas , at standing height ...great design

@@sociably_shelby I LOVE YOUR home by the way ....thats one of my favorite models..and I keep reworking it in my head, since I fist saw it on Bryce's channel... I often sketch designs of tiny homes from online and from my own design, and I have OFTEN been musing on the model you chose..it seems one of the best models....and design wise, I often muse over how both lofts could be stand up lofts ...or ...a stand up half bath upstairs above the main bath ...let me know if you think of any adaptations as you are actually living in that model that I often try to rework in my head. ..oh and love the work around for your upstairs office..with the foot area cut out..I often work out that 2nd loft upstairs space ..love the office idea ...beautiful home : ) xo from Canada - West Coast

I think with Shaye's home, it is ten feet wide, not eight so it gives a very different feel in the living area. Given that they move around, the eight foot model makes sense for them. If I was going to place it on a piece of land for a longer stertch, I would go with 10 feet.
Good point. 10 vs 8.5 feet can feel vastly different!
8.5 feet is what was allowed to drive legally in the US is what we were told. That extra feet would be nice, but we’re making it work!
@@sociably_shelby You are right. At 10 feet, you would be considered an oversized load and would require a special moving truck. So that doesn't make sense for how frequently you need to move.
This is a great design. I love the stand up loft and the placement of the storage closets etc. You have a great hous.

Smart move by a young couple to get a gorgeous home in a beautiful and peaceful location where their pets can be happy too. The whole tiny house movement has got people thinking more about how they actually use their dwellings and how much is wasted or underused space. This particular home has amazing sight lines, too. Oh and maybe they can hack a container from Rubbermaid or IKEA for their litter box. :)

Another idea! (sorry, I'm currently planning and dreaming about mine so I think about tiny design often LOL)... your kitchen table - could you have a 'second' top that's the exact same dimensions hinged onto the existing one so that it would fold out into the walkway? It'd double your working/eating space but also help you avoid the head bonking :)

I love your tiny home Shelby, and its so cool to see how everyone makes it their own. I agree, that Shaye's Tiny Homes feel like a home. My favourite is The Sophie design, with a small kitchen because I'm not a cook, and a separate lounge room where you can fit visitors and have people to stay. Like you, I would want to have a bath and room for pets. I wish you both many happy years of adventures and everyday life in your beautiful home.

Shaye has such incredible designs! Every time she comes out with a new one my head spins and I think “this is the one!” … then another comes out 😅. I’ll never be able to decide on a design!! Here a thought put a large fridge beside the sink cabinet and put a cabinet in the small fridge spot then you have extra counter space for coffee or small appliances.. Curtains in front of laundry.cute home

Try a top loading freezer "chest" in the corner dead space of the kitchen . You may have two of these. Then get refrigerator with only a small freezer at the top for making ice cubes. Or get a stand-alone ice cube maker. Then you can get just a refrigerator without a freezer or with only a freezer compartment.
