Most often caused by local refinery issues like weather or poor maintenance. The US is currently producing record amounts of oil and LNG. Over 6Mbpd more than pre-Covid. We are the world's leading producer and are exporting more today than ever. In our free-market system, the President doesn't set the price for groceries or gasoline, manufacturers do. Ask them why they increased them or just look at their record profits in their yearly statement.
