  • Wonder if they do like the white bass do, the bigger ones are under the smaller ones that are chasing the shad at the surface. So you use a heavier jig head and let it sink, then reel quick.

  • A rattle trap with those treble hooks switched out for singles is the ticket for that type of fishing!

  • Been netting those pesky crappie in the coves as I am trying to get gizzards, I would tell you but would hate to see a bunch of people jigging for crappie where my reliable bait is. They will be at BM, Brushy, Buncomb, slickum , Newberry, oil pads and Cumberland pools , easy limits now if you find the spot, heck just about any cove that has a small feeder into it near the shallow rocky shoreline, limit is 37, should be more like 50, they are stacked in there. Beach youe boat, hip waders and 10 to 11ft jigging rod. Get one of those 8 inch gizzards on a float and cast it out around the mouth of the feeders, your wasting time chasing birds and catching the dink fest, April and May is feeding time for the big girls. May, I limit on crappie, stripe, sandies and catfish all in one spot, they always show up there each May like clock work.
