The new Peugeot 5008 will come with the option of a night-vision system for the first time. This uses a forward-facing infrared camera to help detect cyclists, pedestrians, and large animals and display them on the digital driver’s display.
You’ll be able to get the new 5008 with the same range of petrol and diesel engines as the outgoing car. For starters, a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with 130hp comes with a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic. There’s also a more potent 180hp 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that gets this eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
There’s also a pair of four-cylinder diesel engines for you to choose from. The cheapest will be a 130hp 1.5-liter engine with a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic. There’s also a beefier 2.0-liter engine with 180hp that’s only available with an automatic gearbox. Unlike the smaller 3008, you can’t get the Peugeot 5008 as a plug-in hybrid.
Peugeot 5008 measures 4641mm long, 1646mm tall, and 1844mm wide (2098mm including the mirrors) on a 2840mm wheelbase.
It has 952L of luggage space up to the window line with the third row folded. With the second and third rows folded, there’s 2042L up to the roof.
The petrol weighs 1473kg (tare) while the diesel is 1575kg.
