Prince is showing her leadership qualities - it SUCKED on Vancouver Island last night - the rain was awful - and the wind!! Sinclair is truly the G.O.A.T. of all players - but this team plays so well together - no matter who's on the pitch - they'll do well no matter what.
Too easy against Australia's B squad, most of whom did not feature in the World Cup.
@@frednerk3477 - Look - we need to stop referring to Australia's line as the B line - they are on a NATIONAL team, plus each one of them play for a pro team - there IS no B team. They ALL should be capable of playing at a NATIONAL team level - they didn't.

Good win for Canada although this was pretty much Australia's B/small c team. None of today's Australian starting XI started in Australia's WC game against Canada.

Australians are really sorry that the Australian coach insulted Canada by putting out such a substandard squad, while better players sat on the bench. He should have signalled his intention not to take the game seriously and not rip off the Canadian fans, who expected a good contest.

every single key starting player for the Aussies was absent. wouldnt take much from this match other than the replacement players for the Matildas need alot of work.
It doesn't do a team's confidence any good getting drubbed 5-0, regardless of the personnel.
The Aussies had their starting lineup from their WWC rout of Canada in game 2. CANWNT still won.
Well done Canada, ruthless in front of goal. Micah, now in her 20's for goals conceded. Shame she is not in double figures for appearances. But Micah is a rock. She is not moving for anything.
Good motivation for the team even if Australia were playing with their B team. Good to see the new generation of players stepping up n continuing to build on what Sinclair n her generation did.
Yeah this was more of an Aussie C team. B team is like Cortnee Vine, Alex Chidiac, Emily van Egmond, Tameka Yallop, Clare Wheeler, Emily Gielnik, etc. B team would have beat Canada. The players for this game were mostly kids with no previous caps. I'm glad they got playing time.
@@AlphabetCookie CANWNT have dominated the Matildas over the last two decades. Australia went with their WWC lineup in game 2. They made it a much more competitive game, but Canada emerged victorious once again. 🇨🇦⚽️

You mean a z team. What ever league they play in they should give it away.
What was the point? Tony likes these games as experiments to see if someone will 'shine', but started a second string squad on a surface we don't normally play on. 7-0 loss to Spain & 5-0 to Canada from these friendly experiments & what do the less experienced players get from it? Six are replaced 60 minutes into the game at 5 nil down, so re-enforcing that they struggled without the first 11 usual starters. Football Australia has a lot of faith in a guy who has repeated some of his errors & wanted to leave for the US women's team job just a few weeks ago.

I'd love to know what the Matilda's coach learned from that shamozzle!? That was absolutely dreadful. There's no confidence to be gained from that mess. Probably Polk's worst game for a long time. Her speed was non-existent, and she looked clumsy on the ball. Wheeler? Nowhere near ready for this standard! She looked like a junior the way she lack control or confidence on the ball. Aivi, I'm a massive fan, but maybe it's time...

I got to say, despite the lousy situation the keeper was left in, she was as much of a contributor to that first goal as the dummy defence. You don't stand and watch your opponent come in towards you as it gives them all the time in the world. She should have charged the player with the ball to narrow the angle and pressure her. Micah is racking up those goals.
I thought the same thing. Happens alot in womens football. It's like they are not told to come out of the goal

Prince's goal a the thing that makes the game beautiful. Leon. Sometimes I think that those goal seeking forwards fail to realize how much more an assist is than the glory of a goal. Leon doesn't score if the assist wasn't on the money. Follow the money as they say.
This aussie B team has no idea of the value of defence and speed to the ball. The other thing that I noticed ,and the Euro cup competition has the same issue, is the poor standard of refereeing in womens football.

They played in games that mattered when they won the Olympic tournament in Tokyo. Playing badly at the WWC while playing well at the Olympics is what CANWNT have traditionally done.

For a team representing Australia that was disgusting. I saw comments saying it was a B team. They were more like a Z team. Canada is only an average team in ladies soccer and we could barely get over halfway. Our 2nd tier of players should be way better than that.

Maybe you should look at the statistics between Canada and Australia. In the last 4 games they played against each other Canada won 3 out of the 4 games. Australia played really well in the world cup but saying Canada is average when they won the last Olympics.😂

This is all a set up, one team puts in their top players we see regularly who start in their leagues, then another team puts in players who will never start for their country in an international competition. Yeah, I noticed... I recognized Polkinghorne and a few others but wondered where were Kerr, Foord, Gorry, Kennedy, etc.
@@DrFlippin Kennedy was there - if you didn't see her face at the end of the clip you must be blind - and deaf, because the commentator mentioned her. Catley was not there. Fowler was not there. A lot of the players playing in Europe were not there because they are playing matches in Europe. Polkinghorne is a waste of oxygen, as is clear from her performance in the clip. I don't know how she holds her place in any Australian national squad - it must be that there is only one Australian centre back who is not totally useless, and she's busy at Manchester City.
