  • Welcome to the Hellcat Kingdom good buddy. So a few things about why the TRX is such an amazing road trip vehicle: Ram actually had the springs in development in tandem with the Bilstein shocks for over 3 years. As Ralph Gilles explained to us, they didn't develop the TRXs suspension in a piecemeal style. It literally was developed as one unit. I know the Ford guys swear by the Fox shocks, and they are good(not King good though), however the Bilstein shocks were in development in 2016 logging 100s of thousands of miles for R&D purposes(those shocks are only fitted to the TRX). It literally shows in how nothing upets the ride of the TRX, despite its prodigious weight, width, and height. One other trick Ram deployed was the 5th shock damper on the rear diff, which cancels out even more vibration and tremor associated with all trucks. Ram further pushed development by creating a 76% new frame specifically for the TRX. That helped to add insane capability as well as increased refinement, despite all of the offroad hardware. And yes, even the tires are TRX exclusive. Yes, they don't have the name of a KO2, but being Duratrac based and better tire wear ratings, they have their pluses. So when I hear people say "tHe TrX iS a OnE TrIcK PoNy"...they clearly have not read up on any of specifics of the amazing beast. Oh, get a Shell card and become a loyalty member. I get 20c off per gallon of good ol 93 for my Hellcats! 10 SMILES PER GALLON GOOD BUDDY!😁

I felt like filing a restraining order against them because of how they gripped around my waist and hips. #metooseats Very cool truck, Ben. I can't imagine spending that much money on a depreciating asset like a truck, but if you got the cash to treat yourself, seems like you are having a great time with it. I had a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and the leather seats on that were still the most comfortable I have sat in. Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep do know how to make comfortable seats.

Oooh i must say, i hate Chrysler products for their inefficiency and poor reliability but this High performance truck is just on another level. Id just buy it for offroading on weekends and highway cruising on weekends or weekend getaways!! I guess this is also Chrysler's way of paying revenge to Ford for messing up the Jeep Wrangler with the Bronco. Now they messed up the Ford F150 Raptor with the Dodge Ram TRX. Good work Chrysler!!

  • The RAM TRX is the king of all monster and like Dodge/Jeep/Ram thay know what thay are doing and thay don’t play games like everyone elce does! Thay are so good at what thay do cause that’s why thay’ve been Motor Trend truck of the year many times and thay’ve been the best at what u need them todo! Play or work thay do it all! But if u want toget better fuel economy out of your TRX and anything elce you’ve got to change your intake to K&N cold air intake and change your exhaust from stock to an aftermarket exhaust and air in your tires always helps to. Doing those things make a difference with MPG and Power and torque! I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi and it’s a monster! Soon later I’ve changed the stock intake and exhaust to K&N cold air intake and my stock exhaust to Corsa Sport and I get more power more torque and mush better MPG! Also better throttle response out of doing both of those things! Plus sound of the Corsa Sport oh wow does it sound good! No drone and true stainless steel! Improve things on ur ride and u will get more out of it! U will hear that CAT SCREAM even more!

    @ramcharger101@ramcharger1013 жыл бұрын
    • You like the Corsa sport? Man I wish I knew someone who has the ram with that. I’m still debating with what exhaust to got with. Corsa or Borla attack. But I don’t want the drone either. 👍

  • Great video...The truck really isn't 702 hp when you factor the loss. So let's say 30% drivetrain loss equals 491 hp. When you're driving, your only using 491 hp if you were to max out in speed, so while driving let's say you're using 390 to 400 hp. But what really makes the driving experience is the tuning and gearing. I believe if you supercharged a standard Ram and tuned the shift you would get the same performance, maybe better, but better MPG. Because the truck is governed at 119 mph est..So there's so much horsepower that is being unused.

    @Naginc@Naginc2 жыл бұрын
    • It’s governed because the DOT Approved tires can’t take anymore than that. Anything more the tires could potentially explode in high speeds. On top of that, if you really want to go high speeds you wouldn’t being doing it in a truck. It’s just a badass truck that’s meant to be fun when you do pulls, Also 30% drivetrain loss? Definitely less than that.

By the end of that trip the truck was up to 650 mile range when the tank was full. So nice to be able to drive for 9 or 10 hours straight, without stopping for fuel.

  • Being able to afford to pay for the gas wouldn't be my issue. I own a 18 Raptor and I daily drive it. It has a 36* gallon tank, when I fill up I get about 450 miles for the tank and I fill up about once a week. The issue would be stopping to fill up every 2-3 days with this TRX. I could see the V8 sound and power being fun for about 2 months and then I would probably get rid of it. Then again, my weekend driver is a V10 manual transmission Audi R8 :) Regardless, going 4.5 seconds 0-60 in a truck doesn't mean shit when Tesla and GM come out with their fully electric 1100 HP trucks.

    • @@RAM-KINGOFTRUCKS Cool bro. Dodge/Mopar is trash from their Viper to their pickup trucks. Ford has proven success with their Ford GT which won the Le mans race in 2016 (Ford GT has the same motor as the Gen 2 Raptor) and the Raptor in the Baja 1000. The Gen 1 to the Gen 2 has been proven in the baja 1000 as a "stock" truck, the gen 2 finished the 855 mile race in under 36 hours. Would love to see dodge actually engineer something of value rather then putting a dumbass supercharged v8 in every car and knowingly hurting their vehicles resale value by repeating this process. I'll keep my "dry fart" Raptor and put it against the TRX any day off road and on road. Cant wait to see the deprecation on this P.O.S. in about 2 years, sub 50k on craigslist guaranteed. Now go look up used car prices of the Ford GT and Raptor. Cheers

  • It's a HEMI. Just power.. not fuel economy.. don't go off road with out a few fuel tanks. As it will only give you about 3 MPG off road. LoL. Enjoy the ride.

OK the Raptor isn't as fast but its a complete PROVEN off road monster!!

  • I laugh at the guys that buy this truck as “bug out” vehicle. Yeah have fun with that barely making it out of your local zip code with that fuel Economy. Why Ram doesn’t offer the 6.7L I6 Cummins turbo diesel. If you want bug out. A V8 that get 10 MPG isn’t gonna cut it. I’d rather have range low torque and capable off road. To fast off the line always worried about where the nearest gas station is. It’s a nice truck but even Chevy is missing the Mark with its new Silverado ZR2 and not offering a diesel.

You would have thought that a V10 would have torque, but nope, if the truck saw a hill, it would kick down a gear with the cruse control on.
