That's a really nice collection. I especially like the striking of the one at 2:00. What make is it?
Thank you a lot!! That one is a very unusual Gustav Becker, never expected it to sound like that. It strikes on 4 rods, 2 of them that have the same key are tuned slightly away from each other so it makes a very heavenly sound!

Hallo Linus. Eine sehr schöne Sammlung hast du da. Ich habe ja mit Den Hobby wieder aufgehört. Die Surrer ist ja jetzt auch ein Totalschaden ist von der Wand gefallen unreparabel. Und das war der Grund jetzt entgültig aufzuhören.
Ach ich have das Hobby jetzt komplett aufgeben und es ist jetzt komplett Tot. Zum Glück. Ich beschäftige mich jetzt tausendmal lieber mit meiner Modelleisenbahn.

Why some clocks sound one or two minutes after the correct time? I've noticed it several times, apparently it's a very common thing to see.
That's for multiple reasons. It could be because some clocks don't have the original hands, don't have them adjusted right or have the releasing lever for the strike bent a little off perfection. But to me these standard antique household clocks aren't supposed to be 100% accurate, they're rather an interesting and charming item to collect and enjoy!

Tolle Sammlung. Hast du spezielle Kriterien nach denen du sammelst? Wieviel Exemplare sind es? Hab erst kürzlich selber angefangen. Doch der Platz ist beschränkt. Möchte sie auch nicht zu eng beieinander hängen.
Danke! Das größte Kriterium für mich ist der Klang der Uhren, die Optik und der Zustand sind mir relativ egal. Sammle schon seit vielen Jahren, hab aber auch nur ein 15m² Zimmer und muss da fast 200 Uhren unterbringen, da nehme ich gerne das große Zusammenhängen auf engstem Raum in kauf. Ich kaufe auch ab und zu sehr seltene oder wertvolle Uhren, wenn der Preis passt. Sammle ebenfalls antike Spieluhren, habe da bereits auch einige, sind aber wesentlich teurer als Uhren! Freu mich sehr zu hören, dass es Zuwachs in der Sammlerszene gibt, bin einer der jüngsten Sammler in Süddeutschland!! Sehr gespannt, was bei dir/ihnen noch hinzukommt. Ich würde für Anfänger eher günstige, häufiger zu findende und pflegeleichte Uhren wie 3 Stab Bim Bam Regulatoren, 40er Kaminuhren oder Gewichtspendeluhren empfehlen. Dann kann man sich Schritt für Schritt weiterarbeiten

I have a question how can you sleep with those clocks do they wake you up
I usually don't have them ticking throughout the night but sometimes I do, I'm used to the noise and it makes me feel "safe" at times rather than annoying me

Why does that bim bam clock 7:22 takes 2 seconds for the 2nd note? Why?
When someone reassembed the movement he didn't place the star wheels (that move the hammers) the right way and it's slightly off now. If I'll have to disassemble it at any point I'll fix that, no worries

What is the clock at 2;56? I would love to get one
That's a 1940's Karl Lauffer box clock made in Villingen and Schwenningen, Germany. That one strikes on 4 rods and really does have a harmonious sound! Here where I live these aren't rare at all but in the states or anywhere outside Europe they're very rare pretty much. I'm for sure not selling mine but you might find one, just look if it has 4 rods and it's Made by Lauffer and you sgould find one

It’s Karl Lauffer clock with 4 rods. I found one with the same sound on eBay one Week ago and bought it direct! Just find Karl Lauffer wall clock with 4 rods. Most of them have the same sound.
