Essentially what happens is, you sold an item for a value that is way above the average price for the item. So the algorithm picks up on this and just locks your account. It’s only a lock, not a ban, and it’s temporary. It happened to me too, got removed 24 hours later. They do this because it thought you might have been money laundering or something.

Yeah, if there is an effect on the item. When Valve remove tradable keys I was able to sell them $20 each and didn’t get ban or anything, with the help of steam not letting people sell on the market place during that time.

I was community banned last week just because I posted in ~10 different profiles on steam in one day. They said that I sent suspicious links but in every single comment I was talking that I'm interested in a specific skin and if the person was interested in sell or trade add me to negotiate. They reverted my ban as "first time courtesy"

This is so stupid because I had like 4 of these laying at the back of my inventory and really wanted to sell them but I was afraid of getting banned so I didnt. I really dont think its smart to just ban people who sell items they have had for years if they suddenly pump. There needs to be a time window on the algorithm that it bans people who have recently bought a massive amount of those items and then sold for a profit. Like I know I would have propably got unbanned at some point but I really didnt wanna risk it anyways for a few dollars but its just dumb regardless
