  • I think RT Game could be an interesting content creator to do this sort of collab. He isn't a stranger to competitive Pokemon, but I think he's generally been more of a casual when it comes to it, plus he seems really good at adapting his strategies, so I think with a good twist or challenge added would make for a really good video. Maybe add a third content creator to the collab, someone else who only has more casual experience with competitive Pokemon, give them advice simultaneously and see who can reach Masterball tier first?

      @DarkwingDash@DarkwingDash2 жыл бұрын
    • @@DarkwingDash that’s definitely true, but the meta is still dictates a lot of what is viable. There’s still customization that can be used, but a lot of those tactics that lie in the “infinite space” isn’t very useful in certain meta games

    • There's a very nice happy medium to be found in all of this. I enjoy using some competitive know-how to enhance my casual playthroughs, using the team I specifically want while also using many in-game features to keep ahead of any curves. Being competitive and being casual don't have to be mutually exclusive viewpoints.

      @gengarzilla1685@gengarzilla16852 жыл бұрын
    • I really liked that too. I'm a player with a very casual playstyle (despite Pokémon being one of my favorite franchises of all time) who just uses Pokémon I like. E.g. I WILL avoid evolving a Pokémon if I like the first form best. I have fun pulling off tricky things in competitive with Pokémon that aren't meta because I'd rather just have fun with ones I actually like.

  • I'm both quite amazed and very inspired by the teaching methods you used to help Jaiden when starting out! One of the many reasons I avoid competitive anything is my lack or ability to read other people's moves and the general meta, so building a team and thinking through tough calls in the heat of the moment are things I dread happening. But if a competitive trainer were to take a tier list I make, give me a team to work with along with infographics on how to play the team and who to watch for, I'd probably really enjoy competitive! Hopefully more professional competitive trainers begin to teach using this method, and maybe one day I can experience the joy of playing competitive Pokémon!

  • This was amazing. Really a testament to your teambuilding and pokemon skills that you can just go create a team and coach someone to go something like 19-1 with it. Those weren't super easy teams you were facing either, a lot of pretty competitive teams out there. Im now eagerly awaiting Jaiden in the pokemon world championships in two years. Make it happen!

  • The Kabutops/Mewtwo was just a budget Coalassal all along, pretty interesting. Also while this was pretty fun to watch I think it would be pretty cool if there were at least some battles that Jaiden had done on her own. At times it felt like Wolfey was playing and Jaiden was just pressing the buttons.

    • Exactly, it was a fun video but I honestly didn't feel any amount of wonder that they won match after match since it was still Wolfey who was basically playing.

    • Which is also the point of the video! Plus, she herself said that she's a more of a pattern learner (which can be crazy scary in VGC considering how many variables are in there) but surely she started having a better understanding of it! I sincerely hope she got passioned about it and kept playin!

  • I think this is a very interesting video format. At the end of the day, Pokemon is big on finding the ones you vibe with, so it would be interesting to see more videos of testing player's teambuilding skills using limitations based on what their favorites are opposed to purely acting on meta, and seeing how far they can go with it.

  • Man, this was really nice. Im not new to the franchise, but i am very new to competitive. Sw&Sh is the first game so far that got me interested in comp. I did alot of my own research but also reached out to forums and discord stuff and they were less than kind. Though i agree i am definitely a noob, i did have the pleasure of beating one of the guys with my dubwool and wigglytuff, though I definitely dont know how i did it and am still to wet behind the ears to play comp confidently lmfao. I learned a lot just by watching this, and seeing jaiden play and have fun with a world champ gives me a little hope that i might be able to give it another go when I have time to make an actual team sometime.

I've been trying to make it to Ultra tier for over a year, so mega props for the teamwork that made Master tier happen so smoothly! Video was put together in super digestable and entertaining way, and the narration made it a coherent narrative rather than a straight recap. Great stuff as always!
