FOX Sports analyst Mark Schlereth joins Colin Cowherd to defend and dispute reports of Sean Payton having a "hit" on Russell Wilson. He also discusses why Jerry Jeudy's release was essential and how he is a "bust." Schlereth then explains why Russ fits with the Pittsburgh Steelers: OC Arthur Smith.

    @isachayden9987@isachayden99872 ай бұрын
    • He’s but a sportscaster. He’s a blowhard. Nick Wright, Mark Schlereth and Shannon Sharpe are blowhards too. These guys get paid to specifically say the things they say. The NFL Executive office lines producers’ pockets too. The producers then tell the talking heads what to say on a given day. Goodell wants Russ out of the league to make room for a younger marquee QB. Dies he do this to Rodgers, Cousins, or Stafford? No. But under his watch, Cam has been forced out. Kaepernick was forced out. They’re trying to force out Russ, and Dak and DWat will be next! Kyler might also wind up out of the league. They want to keep the QB position wyt3. They can achieve that by cutting short blaq QBs’ careers to depress their stats and odds of winning SBs late in their careers. That way, Montana, Brady, Elway, Favre, Graham, Unitas, and Staubach stay the GOATS. That’s why this Fields beating out Russ narrative has been a topic every day. Goodell is trying to pressure Tomlin without doing it directly, so he uses the media to influence the fans. The first INT Russ throws, people in Pittsburgh will be calling for Russ to be benched. He could be in game 10 with 3,000 yards and 27 TDs, 0 INTs, a 70% Completion Rate, and a 9-1 record. It won’t matter. Tomlin should consider unloading Fields for a #1 the first QB injury that occurs, and then bringing in another QB to back up Russ. In the alternative, they could convert Fields to WR. He’s never going to beat out Russ anyway.

And as far as management goes, they showed RW all the trust in the world even when signals started showing to the contrary; last year was horrible. Instead of putting it on RW, they put it on the coach and got rid of him. They then went out to get an offensive-minded coach to help Russ, one that cost alot of money and requires picks...all to help Russ. When it came time for Russ to help the team back, not with less money like TB did throughout his career or adjustment to the contract to help with cap space as Mahomes does for the Chiefs...he knifed the team.

Shannon Sharpe has flipped his narrative now, trying to praise Russ, but we all heard what he was doing during the season. It was extremely clear that Payton had his mind made up about Russ from day-1, and he did sh!t all season to press Russ’s buttons. It looked to me like he tried to provoke Russ into attacking him so the owners could petition to void the contract. Look at the things he did: Limiting the offense to suppress Russ’s numbers; Telling people Russ couldn’t digest the offense (lie!); Throwing games Russ had a chance to win; Leaving Russ in the Miami game during garbage time; Badmouthing Russ to the media; Attempting to start a sideline altercation on national television… Sean Payton’s goals were to tank for draft position and scapegoat Russ for the bad record, and if possible get his contract voided. It makes Payton look pretty stupid, especially when Russ is joining a playoff caliber team with a head coach (Mike Tomlin) who’s done something Peyton never has - won a Super Bowl AND has never had a losing season. So guys like Cowherd and Schlereth are scrambling to spin on their buddy’s behalf. If you want an indication of how phony Payton is, has anyone noticed how quickly he’s stopped talking about and swooning over Stidham now that the season is over and Stidham’s served his purpose of serving as a useful tool to humiliate Wilson? And Stidham’s naive enough to actually think he has a legitimate chance to be the Broncos’ starter next year???!!! Also did anyone else notice how Payton would almost look downright miserable in the post-game press conferences during the Broncos’ winning streak? It was like he couldn’t believe Russ was still managing to win games DESPITE everything Payton was doing to sabotage him lol! • Mark's comment about Jerry Jeudy was spot on if you truly look at it. Inconsistent, lack of blocking and arrogant as well (remember his stupid comments that set Steve Smith off.... on national TV???). If my memory serves me correctly this BIGGEST reason the Denver Broncos won the Super Bowls they did and you can see it through and through..... they were a TEAM. Jerry Jeudy among several other players on my beloved Broncos ARE NOT playing as a team and it's a damn disgrace. Check out the documentary "The Revenge Tour" and you see what I am mean. Those 53 men went to battle for each other, sacrificed for each other, held each other accountable. I am happy to see Jerry Jeudy, Russell Wilson and others go. On that note I know also that the Broncos needed to make Cap Space so it is sad to see Justin Simmons and Josey Jewell go... stand out guys, awesome in the community and a team players. The Broncos have been needing to do this for a while and I am happy to hear they are finally facing the music. Last season Sean Payton was mentioning the Denver Nuggets mainly for the cohesiveness, playing as a team.... because that's how winning it DONE!! If by chance current and former players reading this... it's gut check time!!! Get back to the glory days and play as a team and stop worrying about your pocketbooks!! Thank you Mark for standing up (among other Bronco alumni) and being blunt enough to state the OBVIOUS of what is truly wrong with our Broncos.

If it works and the team wins based on good defense and positive takeaways, make sure RW gets the majority of the credit...or he / his camp won't be happy. So, it's less on what Russ can accept, it's the rest of the team, particularly the defensive unit, that needs to work harder and be willing to accept less reward...in return for being in the presence of the second coming. When team success comes, Russ will ask for at least 25% of the salary cap on average for the all the years in his next contract (the rest of the team 52 guys can share the remaining 75% or so); oh and he thinks he can play as long as Tom Brady did so it, the contract, better be long.
