Dugout shelter, will stand up to all kinds of weather, no talking ASMR

Another version of the construction of my dugout in which I combined two episodes. Thus the video became longer and more informative, and you will have more time to fall asleep. I cover the roof of the dugout with moss and make a fire-box.

  • Very interesting video, thank you. Not sure if you are aware but when you put the plastic sheet under the other when it rains, it can cause a capillary action and allow rain water to go through the two pieces of plastic and cause the water to spread to the wood and eventually rot and even come through the wood to wet the inside. If you folded the edge of the plastic sheet back on itself, and the same on the other piece of plastic and make them interlock, then put the moss and lichen on top, it wouldn’t have that capillary action and protect the roof better. I hope this helps

  • Question, because your new steps are lower then ground level and in the open won’t the rain water rundown then and fill your entrance up? Possibly run under your door to inside? 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • looks like the soil is pure sand under a few inches of topsoil. The water will drain straight down into the sand and never accumulate or build up.

All it took to make that a real home was just that roofing maybe a nearby spring to feed water inside. The place is like the guy in New Zealand has totally outstanding just no running water yet. Now he is piping in water from over 1,000 yards away. An underground shelter takes time and planning not done on any whims...

  • I noticed you were mixing black soil in with the lighter soil to use as backfill. Black soil is really good for growing things, so keeping it separate from the lighter soil would be good if you ever had to grow your own food at your campsite. The lighter soil alone is good enough for backfill. Making the most efficient use of every resource is important, in a survival situation.

  • A tip for long lasting poles in the ground, if you make a fire and burn the ends which go into the ground. They will last longer, if once you have charcoaled them. You can coat them in tree sap, then put them in a hole in the ground where you want them and fill in the holes, they will last a lot longer than just pointing them and knocking them in. This can also be used with or without the sap to the horizontal wall pieces next to soil. I hope this helps.

  • If there is a clay deposit near by, the wood ask from the fire can be used to mix with the clay and you can make clay bricks and then use them for a chimney and fire place

  • Pogledao sam kako "ovu" tako i priličan broj reportaza sa istom tematikom.Ne ulazeći u redosled radnji i metodologiju izrade,za koju imam pohvalno mišljenje, stavio bih akcenat na dve stvari.Prva, gotovo svaka reportaža je u varijanti "nemog" filma,što je do nekle čini nepotpunom.Druga stvar koja možda i nije toliko bitna,ali kad već pred očima imamo kompletnu radnju,zašto se uporno izbegavaju podatci vezani za lokaciju,pa samim tim i država.Jeli to neko pisano ili NE-pisano pravilo objave na KZhead da se takva obaveštenja iz nekog bezveznog razloga ne pominju. Uglavnom,što važi i za druge reportaže i ovde se vidi spretnost aktera,kao i 100% afiniteta za boravak u prirodi.Za sumnjati je da bi tu mesto mogao potražiti neki...recimo kancelarijski pacov ili neki " IT " zaluđenik.Takvi bi u sličnim NE-prilikama brzo skončali gladni i bez minimuma znanja da makar vatru upale!
