I wouldn’t be nearly as good at 3D stuff if it wasn’t for your channel. Thank you so much and keep up the great work!
true. thank you gabbitt :)
As someone who started learning 3d about 2 years ago, and who almost gave up on that dream due to the the country i live in and financial problems because living in said country and a lot of other factors i thank you from the bottom of my heart for reigniting my dream of making 3d my career. I hope i still have time and can do it at the age of 32 ...
I was watching this video and my wife walks into the room, looks at the TV and says "Oh, Is that what Blender Bob Ross looks like!"
Quickly becoming my favorite channel in regards to anything 3D or even 2D art related. Amazing breadth on your content and always useful.
I like how humble you are and your voice is s o soothing , thank you grant , you are helping many 3d enthusiast out there ,who are interested to learn it , you are amazing
Just wanted to say, thank you for these videos, the graphic drawing and blender modeling by far the most useful channel I have found compared to others as you are very clear with instructions and I also like the fact in many blender tutorials you give 'homework' which makes me do stuff myself I may otherwise have just coppied, and most importantly I love thaty you dont waste time youve greatly helped me thank you
Your advice is always encouraging! Thank you!!
Thanks for making this video! I'm always looking for fun 3d modeling jobs.
thanks!!! I'm already looking forward to the next episodes!
Hey ! Thank you very much that video help alot ! I'm a newbie in all that 3D thing with blender, but I'm really enjoying my time making 3D models and I wish to go further with all this knowledge ! thank you Grant Abbitt !
Thank you so much! I needed this info as I'm learning this awesome skill!
i would really love to hear more details about the topics you mentioned.you are my favourite 3d youtuber
always welcome your guidance mate!
Thanks Grant. I do 3D printing and some vfx. Lots of blender tutorials in my future.
Thanks so much you’re helping us a lot 🥺♥️♥️♥️
You are a great person, thank you so much!
Very helpful, Grant. Thanks 😀
Someone make a 10 hour video for hello and welcome to gabbitt media
Gabbit Media ASMR ❤️
Yayyy a new Gabbitt video :)
you are the person who gave me the stating point of being a 3d modelar
You came in perfect time lol 😂❤️
It would be amazing if you make a video showing good portfolios from different artists. Specially from lighting artists wich is my field of interest :D
yes please
love this guy👍
I have a passion for art and am very interested in 3D modeling as a career. I just don't know where to start in terms of taking classes and beginning building a portfolio.
thank you
Grant Abbit you areeeeee beeeesssstttt
do you have in mind to create a video talking about clothes and hair?? i have been learning by myself but i would like to see how you work those.
'well, thats another video' make them i am curious!
"Be easy to work with" You just slid that in there, but that seems like super advice for anyone that routinely works as a contractor. You could probably do a whole video achieving that. No matter how good you are, no one wants to work with a pain in the ass.
Ironically they still seem very popular on the relationship market though!
Hi Grant! I am a game design student set to enter my final year in September and am currently looking at 3D based jobs for when I graduate. I would love to work in the games industry as an environment or technical artist, but I also wouldn't mind working in other 3D jobs within the design industry to get me started. I'm wondering if you could offer me any tips to boost my chances of getting hired in the future!
The main things are to stay motivated, keep practicing and build up a good portfolio and try and network as much as possible
I have a hide question for you. With al of these types of jobs you must spend a lot of time sitting and creating. How do you avoid injuries like neck strain and carpet tunnel and the like
Standing desk. Lots of breaks. Lots of exercise
Hey, is there any requirement for using graphics tablet with laptop (low end) but it runs good in eevee
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but your portfolio, would that just be a collection of renders of your 3d work or the actual 3d models themselves?
Both I guess, it would be useful to show of how clean your work is, and the final composition
i better do a vid on that next :) remind me if i forget :)
He should be working for BBC as a narrator like David Attenborough. He has the talent for it.
I find it realy hard to find jobs related to 3d here in Finalnd with a population of 5 mil people.
Works at architecture and interior design stuff is needed a lot. But its boring in my opinion. Animators, game artists is less needed, but its more interesting job. Im still deciding if i should go all the way to 2d/3d or CAD modeling 🤘
Is it possible to get reflection of one mirror in another mirror in blender placed opposite to each other. I am trying to make a barber shop scene but the mirror does not reflect the reflection in the mirror opposite to it. Is it even possible in blender eevee ? PLEASE REPLY
I don't think it is in eevee
Awesome vid. Could you do graphic design through 3d software?
i may well do that :)
What is graphic design
As a 3d general artist, which 3d job people find the hardest to do and pays well in the film industry? please i want to know your opinion
Rigging and animation mainly
Hi I started learn to be a 3d artist for 2 years ago I tried to find a job but it I didn't get a jop.. I think I need 1 more year to improve as 3d artist or should I start freelancing... Because when I try find a job as 3d artist they want you to know rigging and animation and skinning And I don't know these I only know modeling sculpt and texture.... Is that normal...
It's normal but it's helpful to know them as it gives more opportunities
@@grabbitt thank you so much for unsering! Your videos are amazing I guess I need to countine studying 3d. And start freelance.
Sorry one more question how long did it take you to get a job..
@@kylexx2556 opportunities kept popping up here and there when I was working full time teaching
Hello sir I am a 3d artist & spacialist in 3d render.i request if there is any home base job for realistic render then allow me thanks
what is the difference between 3D engineer and 3D artist?
Sp appreciate for you sharing this knowledge but if there are so many jobs how come in LinkedIn i can see really few?
Possibly because of all the people wanting jobs
@@grabbitt So, in your opinion the demand for 3d artist is still high?
Do degrees still help when trying to get a job at bigger studios or not really ?
yes i'll probably do that in another video. But i dont think they matter as much as people think
@@grabbitt Ok, thank you. I still believe that I will to go to art school and get a dEgREe cuz my parents want it as they are scared of me doing art for a living (is this correct ?)
@@vaskal8677 omg my parents are the same! I try to convince them that I don’t need a degree I just need to have a good portfolio, be good at what I do and have a good attitude and I can learn faster studying at home but they disagree 😂
@@vaskal8677 thats ok and its still good to have a degree
@@grabbitt Ok, thanks for answering ! You are the person who inspire me the most about making 3D
Sculpting vs modeling? Which is good for 3d industry?
both and its difficult to say which is preferable
how do you deal with people who steals art made by other artists?
interesting question
@@grabbitt I think it would be also interesting to clearly understand at wich point someone is stealing. Obviously if someone use the whole work of someone alse he's stealing, but if I follow a tut about i.e. a shader and I make it identical and use it for a work, am I stealing?
:amazing:
i want to start a game studio as a modeller and game designer🙏 plz help
good luck
Hey I think you're from India if I am not wrong @Pratyush Gupta From which state are u ?
👍👍👍
Man, I would love to see another video about "getting all of those lovely jobs". I decided against getting a degree in higher education and instead pursuing a career in 3D, which my parents did not agree with. Seeing as they are the ones providing the roof over my head, it would be helpful to make a few quid while I'm working on my portfolio to convince them that I made the right decision.
The most obvious way is to contract work to people making games. I tried sites like polycount and others but I would avoid those. Just dig in and try to find some discord channels and forums with people looking for modelers, riggers, and so on.
@@pineappleparty1624 Yeah I had thought about that approach. Grant has mentioned in one of his previous videos that this is the way he finds his clients. I'm going to have to polish out my skills before I dive into that tho. Thank you for your reply :D
@@mr.dingleberry4882 You don't have to be the best at what you do to get work. If you like lowpoly you could do some roblox jobs. I have been dabbling in roblox lately. Loads of young people there with no modeling skills because of the built in crude modeling system. You can get loads and loads of basic work like making houses and landscapes for $5-$50. It's a starting point. =]
@@mr.dingleberry4882 I forgot to mention the official forums takes a while to unlock to use. A great discord for finding work is found on the dev king's channel. (youtube deletes comments with links)
@@pineappleparty1624 Wow, I didn't know that people are willing to pay that much for some simple modeling. Hey, thank you so much for plugging me in, I will make sure to write this down so that I don't forget to check it out later.
What about 2d ?? Is it not so useful to learn it now in this cgi world of art . Where even studio ghibli is making animated movies in 3d.(completely)
It is useful too, but demand and positions are a bit less nowadays as compared to 3d, obviously.
@@drivingthechange9503 yep. Their are only few domain left . And in which many don't even pay u much. But 3d is growing industry (it also has its cons) but u atleast get a descendant job.
@@varu2237 3d art is the big fish in the pond right now. There are quite a bit of careers in 2d too, but most of them are with small companies/indie companies unless you are really good at 2d art like anime/manga style or character design, which might land you a job at a good studio, but even the anime industry is mostly dominated by local artists. You can survive as an independent 2d digital artist and as a freelancer, but 2d animation is slowly getting replaced with more 3d looking visuals
@@drivingthechange9503 yes thats what even i am trying to tell. Total agree with you . 👍👍
@@varu2237 It is sad. 2d art has a different beauty altogether 😌
You should meet blender guru he is a blender youtuber like you.
What's a good website to use as a portfolio?
Artstation

@@grabbitt shame or same?
@@tysonboss2072 shame as in its a pity :)
Does animator need to do modeling?
No
@@grabbitt thank you sir ☺️
So can someone with no degree on thag matter pursue 3d jobs for longterm? To make a living from it. Just youtube tutorials?
Yes
@@grabbitt thanks for answering, really nice video.
Sir this is krishna iam your student in udemy I want to known about system specification for 3rd artist iam currently using ryzen 7 5800h and rtx 3050 Ti 16 gb ram it's sufficient for it or not iam thinking for it
Yes should be fine
@@grabbittsir the spcs is enough for sculpting and animation and vfx or otherwise let me know the specs above them
yes they are enough obviously the better the specs beyond this the faster the performance but what you mentioned should work ok

Grant looks like the kind of man i'd smoke some weed with
stay away from pursuing 3d art as a career, it will ruin your life.
Interesting. I'm not sure that's fair advice. I have tried a3d at career at it has worked for me
@@grabbitt this is cannibalistic and super small industry . U know that. So you have lets say in one group 200 wannabe 3d artists, u know only 5%of them will keep food on tje table and pay bills from with 3d art. And you still telling people to pursue art as a career. And you call that fair. Somebody needs to tell the truth. Thats what I call fair. Better to be graphic designer or architect,or web designer. There are plenty of jobs/vacancies in those industries for everybody. Folks only loose time pursuing 3d art careers because they find it to be cool. + if u dont live in areas such as LA,London,Vancouver etc. and u dont know anybody, chanses are 1% to make it.
