  • "Be easy to work with" You just slid that in there, but that seems like super advice for anyone that routinely works as a contractor. You could probably do a whole video achieving that. No matter how good you are, no one wants to work with a pain in the ass.

  • Hi Grant! I am a game design student set to enter my final year in September and am currently looking at 3D based jobs for when I graduate. I would love to work in the games industry as an environment or technical artist, but I also wouldn't mind working in other 3D jobs within the design industry to get me started. I'm wondering if you could offer me any tips to boost my chances of getting hired in the future!

  • Works at architecture and interior design stuff is needed a lot. But its boring in my opinion. Animators, game artists is less needed, but its more interesting job. Im still deciding if i should go all the way to 2d/3d or CAD modeling 🤘

  • Is it possible to get reflection of one mirror in another mirror in blender placed opposite to each other. I am trying to make a barber shop scene but the mirror does not reflect the reflection in the mirror opposite to it. Is it even possible in blender eevee ? PLEASE REPLY

  • Hi I started learn to be a 3d artist for 2 years ago I tried to find a job but it I didn't get a jop.. I think I need 1 more year to improve as 3d artist or should I start freelancing...     • @@grabbitt I think it would be also interesting to clearly understand at wich point someone is stealing. Obviously if someone use the whole work of someone alse he's stealing, but if I follow a tut about i.e. a shader and I make it identical and use it for a work, am I stealing?

  • Man, I would love to see another video about "getting all of those lovely jobs". I decided against getting a degree in higher education and instead pursuing a career in 3D, which my parents did not agree with. Seeing as they are the ones providing the roof over my head, it would be helpful to make a few quid while I'm working on my portfolio to convince them that I made the right decision.

    • The most obvious way is to contract work to people making games. I tried sites like polycount and others but I would avoid those. Just dig in and try to find some discord channels and forums with people looking for modelers, riggers, and so on.

    • @@mr.dingleberry4882 You don't have to be the best at what you do to get work. If you like lowpoly you could do some roblox jobs. I have been dabbling in roblox lately. Loads of young people there with no modeling skills because of the built in crude modeling system. You can get loads and loads of basic work like making houses and landscapes for $5-$50. It's a starting point. =]

    • It is useful too, but demand and positions are a bit less nowadays as compared to 3d, obviously.

    • @@varu2237 3d art is the big fish in the pond right now. There are quite a bit of careers in 2d too, but most of them are with small companies/indie companies unless you are really good at 2d art like anime/manga style or character design, which might land you a job at a good studio, but even the anime industry is mostly dominated by local artists. You can survive as an independent 2d digital artist and as a freelancer, but 2d animation is slowly getting replaced with more 3d looking visuals

    • @@grabbitt this is cannibalistic and super small industry . U know that. So you have lets say in one group 200 wannabe 3d artists, u know only 5%of them will keep food on tje table and pay bills from with 3d art. And you still telling people to pursue art as a career. And you call that fair. Somebody needs to tell the truth. Thats what I call fair. Better to be graphic designer or architect,or web designer. There are plenty of jobs/vacancies in those industries for everybody. Folks only loose time pursuing 3d art careers because they find it to be cool. + if u dont live in areas such as LA,London,Vancouver etc. and u dont know anybody,chanses are 1% to make it.
