Saltwter Edge staff tyer Coby shows us how to tie one of his favorite small squid patterns. It's a great fly for New England and anywhere gamefish are eating squid. It's a relatively quick tie and open to many interpretations. Shop all the materials for the cocktail squid here: saltwateredge.com/collections...

Great fly. Great instructional video!!
Thank you!
Good video, thanks. I have been making my own Rods and Rigs for a few years with various success. I am trying to make my life a little more difficult by taking up fly fishing. 😅 A thought occurred as I watched your video, could I substitute a very small hoochie head rather than your technic? Simply trim the end just enough to squeeze the hook eye through, then tie it off there.. Thoughts?? Steve
Hi Steve, you certainly could do the hoochie but it may feel a little funny casting it with a fly rod. The nice thing about fly tying materials is they move through the air well.
