Knife making and leather working - Making a big puukko and a leather sheath for a customer

This was a really fun knife to make. It is made for a good friend and customer. The blade is 12 cm long, and the handle is made from reindeer antler and masur birch. The sheath is decorated with a dog paw as a reminder of the customers old dog and his own initials. I am super pleased with how it turned out Hope you like watching the video, and if you have any questions about it feel free to ask away in the comments. Thanks for watching!

  • I really enjoyed your video, Zaki. Not as many people here in the U.S.A. appreciate the puukko, but I find that I usually forge puukko style blades. I want to craft a sheath like this one but I haven't tried yet. Prayerfully soon. Thank you, brother.

    • @@zakisworkshop I will do that, although your skill level greatly surpasses mine. It may be a while. We have just moved to a much smaller rental home and I will have to find all my supplies and then be creative to set up a working area. I have been forging with mineral coal in a hole in the ground but I would like to make a forge pan from a long ammo can lined with cob. I will put a pipe drilled with holes along the length of the pan for a longer fire. We shall see. My wife has end-stage kidney failure, diabetes and no cartilage in her left knee. I take her to dialysis 3 days a week. I am not whining because GOD IS GOOD AND FAITHFUL! I am 68 years old and I am limited on free time and energy, and by His will and grace I will get it done soon. Keep up the very good videos. Yours in Prayer, Rick Trumbo
