I remember watching Jacare dominating jiu-jitsu tournaments in the early 2000s and I would've never imagined I'd see him in a straight up boxing match with Vitor Belfort.

@@silverchair5169 you and Spartan Rage are wrong. Vitor has always been known for his hands. Even when he was billed as a Gracie JJ fighter in the beginning his hands were lethal. He was one of the first guys to drop Chuck Liddell with a punch. Then, his wins over Lindland, Terry Martin, Rich Franklin, etc. He didn't start working on his kicks until later in his career after he suffered many broken hands.

He's actually been training in boxing since he was a young teen and although they say he's only had one fight here he technically 5 - 0 as a pro. He should have done better though!

This was the best fight of the night. Vitor has elite boxing skills and Jacare has a lot of heart man, crazy fight. Both got rocked several times.

tbf if vitor started earlier in boxing, he can be a world title contender.
@@justinstraw3832 maybe, impossible to tell. But any boxing champion from Welterweight up would demolish him as he is. He would not be able to land on Terrence Crawford, who would just beat on him until he quits or drops. At middleweight or SMW, he wouldn't last more than 3 rounds with the likes of Canelo and Benevidez. At LHW, Bivol and Beterbiev would sleep him in the first 2 rounds...he is a serious juicehead, that doesn't help as much in Boxing as in mma

Highly entertaining. Better than some of the dross you get in the boxing community. Respect to Jacare - he was outclassed, but did he stop coming forward and trying to inflict damage? No. He scored with his strikes...just not as much as Vitor. Enjoyed that fight.

These two were beasts in their prime in MMA / Jiu-Jitsu. I am surprised Jacare made it to the 6th round, but I also think some of that was because he is friends with Vitor, and Vitor let off of the gas a couple of times after the 4th when he could have knocked him down again.

Jacare was a phenomenal grappler who improved his striking later in his career. Props to him for taking this fight as Vitor is probably supplemented as well😅In a real fight I think Jacare subs him 9 out if 10 times💯 Vitor wanted to go pro but I don't see that going too far.

I remember watching their fight back in UFC 198 feeling like that fight could've been more than the mauling it was. This fight kinda answered some questions.
Sou fã dos dois porém é nítida a diferença técnica no boxe entre eles! Jacaré nem no auge dele no UFC sabia boxear direito, imagina agora! ja Belfort sempre treinou boxe, treinou com grandes campeões do boxe no seu auge, foi treinado pelo treinador do Oscar Delahoya e até foi cogitado pra ser peso-pesado pela seleção brasileira de boxe que ia pro Pan na época. Luta de boxe boa mesmo seria Belfort vs Anderson Silva ou então contra o Wand porque eles vieram do Muai Thai e sabem boxe.

Good scrap atually, Stevens can throw down jose look faster but to me his punches did nothing to Stevens. No personally i dont want to see these guys again there styles dont match up for a KO in the 2nd fight. But stevens is a great puncher and should be showcased as a priemer fighter in your organization!
