    • One of the principals problems for Ineos is that their liders aren't helping each other like MAS and Lopez. Bernal and Yates are racing only with their interest on mind; added with the lack or forces, it creates a constantly lost of time. Also, Ineos didn't find that "super domestique" on Carapaz. At last, their strategies are too aggressive for the form of Bernal and Yates

But from practical perspective, is this more based on how the guy is "feeling" on a particular day or is it based on hard numbers where a rider knows he can only do X watts for Y seconds before he burns out? Does their bike computer tell then when they've moved into the red?

I think BEX felt they needed a fast man to beat Rog today, when as we saw someone like Howson or Schulz might have actually finished at the pointy end if they were the protected rider. I do wonder when Gerry Ryan will get over not winning anything. Lots of strange decisions over the years, none more than the Hamilton over Haig choice.

Roglic is the favorite, you're never going to win if you lead him out, and Mas looked strong enough that there's a small chance he could have won if he played it differently.
