Game 2: kzhead.info/sun/lNiYepGyeXSLq6c/bejne.html Game 3: kzhead.info/sun/hdSLicqbZHybaWg/bejne.html I'll have a full series highlight video with the FOX/ESPN feeds up at a later date. Probably whenever I get around to the other 3 series from that year. No idea when that will be though.
Gosh, I can’t watch Stevie giving the cup to Vlad without crying everytime
Don't stand a chance.
Caps fans. Knew they were gonna lose, knew they were about to get swept, knew they were about to lose the Stanley Cup, yet they still stood up cheered for Vladdy 😢. Man I can’t tell you how much respect I have for those fans down in DC. So glad when they got their title in 2018. This is the moment I thought about when they won the cup.
Doug Brown was such an incredible piece on these DRW teams. He was a perfect match for Fedorov/Kozlov. Hard-work, going to greasy areas, puck retrieval, and still able to create, etc. A perfect compliment to the high-skill game of Sergei/Slava. A lot like we’d see when DMac was played with Stevie/Sergei & Shanny…and later how Homer played with Pav & Z. That perfect ‘other guy’ to compliment the super high skill. Fantastic player and an underrated part of making the DRW machine work.
It's almost hard to believe there was a time where Bettman wasn't immediately booed when he stepped on the ice to speak.
How and when and why did people start booing Bettman?
@@Nall412 I don’t exactly know, or really care enough tbh, but I suspect that since he’s the commissioner all the scrutiny that the NHL gets falls on his lap as the figurehead.
@@Nall412 It was the lockouts. He's been around for 3, and the fans blame him for them all.
I personally blame him for when hockey came back in 06 he decided to sign a TV deal with Versus network/channel. An obscure channel that only direct TV had so literally most games most of the world couldn't see. So while all the other 3 major sports really began exponentially growing hockey became more obscure and irrelevant. Idk how he kept his job to be honest. Guess the owners thought limited TV viewership and social media exposure was a good thing lol
Oh What A Night
97, friend
It don't matter they would have played it again if this game was at the Joe
Is there a more emotional moment in all of sports than the losing team gathering and watching their opponents celebrate before they ultimately shake hands? Watching the losing teams expressions while completely helpless is just some what poetic.
I wasn't even alive to watch the game but every time i see vlad go around with the cup i start to cry
Holy shit kolzig's numbers were insane in that run.
More glorious childhood memories. Not just of this team and this game, but time with family. Go Wings!
Federov was so damn smooth out there, that move and pass to Doug Brown was silky.
There was just something about Fedorov, like he was perfectly aerodynamically formed to skate or something...
I was only 8 or 9 when the wings won this cup I wasn't into hockey then but I do remember the parade in downtown Detroit
"Дела давно минувших дней."
Marty Lapointe was one of my favorite players during this era, definitely underrated. That 2nd goal from him was crazy, a 60 foot cannon blast.
This one gets me every time.
Great respect to the Washington fans!
@2:25 the pass of a lifetime
Holy crap!
Your timing is impeccable.
Thank You Awood!!!
The 98 team was great, but I have to say with time to reflect the 97 was maybe my favorite team. Vladdy is a big part of that. Yzerman has been my favorite player since I started watching hockey in the mid 80s, but VK was high on my list just from how he played when on the Wings.
12:20 classy Caps fans
Добрый вечер всем! Я напишу своё мнение. Вот искренние, не поддельные чувства. Как с тех пор всё поменялось в худшую сторону. Что с вами происходит люди? Очнитесь! Ведь жить в радости и любви, самое настоящее счастье!
Let's Hope You Can Find Game 1 Of This Series. (Strader/Redmond Call)
RIP Dave Strader
So great to be able to see & hear this, but I have to ask: what broadcast used Strader and Redmond? I only was aware of the ESPN (US) and CBC (Canada) of the Final back then. I know it's not a local Detroit broadcast because #1 the national broadcast took over for the 3rd & 4th rounds back then and #2 because Strader's final season as Red Wings play by play announcer was 1995-96.
It was the international feed. Before ESPN owned everything there used to be a separate feed.
@@GarretMartinn Very cool, thanks!
lets go Red Wings 25:27. Ozzie and McCarty..
Hey awood, I know you have your own order on how you upload videos but I just wanted to throw out a suggestion. At some point if you could, I was wondering if you could upload game 7 against the ducks in 2009 with the ken daniels and Mickey Redmond call.
Don't have that yet.

😀🥲😭
Вот я смотрю на эти кадры и понимаю, что тогда Америка была великой. Какое уважение к Владимиру с трибун. А сейчас? Сколько Овечкин сделал для Вашингтона, а его травят ну разве так можно?
