This video is about Pedicure Tutorial Ingrown Toenail Treatment At Home How to Recut Nail Groove to Eliminate Pain. For people at home suffering from ingrown toenails who want to learn how to get past the problem. Nail technicians should not do this for people. It is not outside the scope of a nail techs license to give a pedicure to someone with an ingrown toenail as long as it is not infected. In this video, I'm going to show you an ingrown toenail treatment that includes how to recut your nail groove to eliminate pain. When the skin on the tip of the toe becomes higher than the toenail it is painful when the toenail tries to cut through the skin. You need to keep the nail groove free of dead skin and debris. And free of bacteria so it does not get infected while cutting through the skin. This is a great treatment for ingrown toenails that people are not aware of that can help get you past the pain and discomfort.

    • 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 exactly! People wearing gloves to consider washing or changing them. They see sterile on the box & think they are safe, they are only sterile until the box is open. I see people wearing gloves, then touching food and then take the money and change with the same gloves 🤢

    • Same here, we’re only expected to wear gloves when first touching the feet because we have to examine them to make sure there’s no shot or fungus or infection and if there is we tel Lynne we can’t work on that toe or foot and suggest going to the doctors to have it checked if they haven’t already

  • Thanks for the advice. My problem is thickness of the nail and it curling under. I have a method I came up with about 40 years ago. Start after your shower by pushing the cuticle back. I use emory boards to "plane " the top and side sufaces of the nail, gradually decreasing the grit of the emory board to a buffer. You don't want to make the nail too thin, but thin enough to be flexable. Then I pull up the corners and cut them. Finally I shape the edges and rub a little Tea Tree oil into the cuticle and nail. The relief is immediate and lasts until the nail starts growing out, about 6 weeks. In all my adult life this is the only thing that works for me. Haven't lost a nail or toe yet.

    @cynthiaharrison4610@cynthiaharrison46105 жыл бұрын
    • There is research to show how effective this is..thin the nail to make it flexible and the edges can’t dig in..well done for discovering it.

      @helenelliot1553@helenelliot1553 Жыл бұрын
  • Vaseline is petroleum based. It sits on top of the skin,it doesn’t absorb as effectively as a smaller molecular oil. The thinner the oil the more easily it can absorb into the pores of the skin. I find helping the client decide what length works for them & then never letting the nails go past that. Some ppl have to have regular pedicures & some can go months & never have problematic nails. I like how you showed that a lot of the time the dead skin build up forces the nail in an un natural direction & if that is removed and kept up can allow the nail to grow forward as intended. It looks like you get satisfaction,like I do when you can help someone experiencing chronic problems get relief👍 it’s the best. It’s as important as reg teeth cleanings IMO. Good job 👏🏻

  • You have nooo idea how much I needed your channel in my life. I get 2-3 toenail infections every month, on all different toes because my nail slightly grows into my skin. If I ever try to run, they get infected; if I walk too much they get infected, and they really hurt when I get them from all the pus causing pressure and the inflammation. My dr never takes it seriously, and nail salons don’t seem to actually cut along the side when I’ve gone in the past. I know I’m not cutting them right, but I really just wasn’t sure how to fix them, but now I do. Anyway, I know it sounds dramatic, but your videos have actually changed my life! So thank you

  • If you’re a licensed professional you know when you can and cannot touch people’s feet. Gloves are needed if blood is present or if working on an “open wound”. Nail technicians are rarely faced with these scenarios and don’t need gloves. If the feet are bad enough to need gloves they need to be referred to a podiatrist or dermatologist, depending on the condition.

    • @Goatbe Bryant That usually happens when the edge of the nail splits much further down and that spike grows into the skin where you can't see it, so you end up trimming just the part that shows. That's one of those instances where it's really better to have it numbed and trimmed out, then depending on the way your toe is shaped, decide whether to use the acid to kill the nail cells on the edge.

    • Oddly, mine does and plastic covers on the bowls. Remember, gloves protect the person wearing them, not the thing they are touching unless they are sterile gloves which are several dollars a pair.

  • More important than wearing gloves: that cotton needs to be changed frequently. No matter how much disinfectant you put on there, it’s like leaving a week-old cotton swab in your ear. There could be pus buildup if it gets infected. It could easily become a bacterial breeding ground.

  • Would you be able to do a short video on how you set up for a pedicure ? The layout. I hope this makes sense. I've been watching lots of pedicure videos and I understand that everybody has their own techniques I just like to see what might work for me I am not a professional nail technician I'm a mom /grandma and I love to work on my family's nails . I do this as a hobby and I love it . I guess I just want to fallow your routine step-by-step until I find my own routine that way I'm not all over the place .I do trust your techniques 1 .you've been a nail tech for a quite a while 2 you have regular customers which to me that means a lot and #3 work on different types of problematic nails which do require special care . I really hope this made sense and thank you for sharing your videos and to the lady's and gentlemen who share there lovely 😊 feet so that I may learn Thank You So Much 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Thank you

  • Another situation where people do not listen or read to clearly understand what is going on. Gloves in the USA are generally at the discretion of the professional ( I’ve been a nail pro for over 30 years) we are also taught what we may work on -disorders of nails, and what we need to refer our customers to their medical Dr for- diseases/infections. Please research these things for the state or country you live in before judging. To be quite honest if you follow sanitation procedures it is quite difficult to pass things like a nail fungus on. This being said Please😊tell me where you got that wonderful thin toenail rasp?!!! Ty

  • When I was in my late 20-30's I always had ingrown toenails. One surgeon removed one, then the other, temporarily. Finally I went to a podiatrist, an excellent Dr., lots of references. To make a long story short, he and I decided to have both nails removed permanently. There wasn't anywhere near the pain/discomfort having them removed than having them continually ingrown. After removal, which other than the initial shot for pain, he injected an acid and 54 yrs later no pain and no nails!
