Lyrics:
Don't take this the wrong way
You knew who I was with every step that I ran to you
Only blue or black days
Electing strange perfections in any stranger I choose
Would things be easier if there was a right way?
Honey there is no right way
And so I fall in love just a little ol' little bit
Every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
There's an art to life's distractions
To somehow escapes the burning weight, the art of scraping through
Some like to imagine
The dark caress of someone else, I guess any thrill will do
Would things be easier if there was a right way?
Honey there is no right way
And so I fall in love just a little ol' little bit
Every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I wake at the first crink of morning
And my heart's already sinned
How pure, how sweet a love, Aretha, that you would pray for him?
'Cause God knows I fall in love just a little ol' little bit
Every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day
Love with every stranger the stranger the better
Love with every stranger the stranger the better
Love with every stranger the stranger the better
Love with every stranger the stranger the better
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new
I fall in love just a little ol' little bit every day with someone new

  • I see so many comments about this song being about lonliness, but I think its about wordless human connection. Like when you pass by a cafe and see someone so engrossed in a book and you feel love for that person, even if you know nothing about them. You pass a woman with bright pink hair and a a grocery list scribbled on her arm and you feel love. Its random but its so human. Thats the feeling I get from this song.

  • I know most people find love in physical aspects of the subject, I kind of related this song with just small loves. Like the way the usual barista makes your coffee, love, when the same coworker holds the door open for you with that same smile, love, or when the same cashier is the one that rings up your groceries and they've got that same old hairpin that's so cute, love. Just gentle small loves. And then, of course, the friends that have the small quirks that make you love them even more. Just small loves.

    • I heard Hozier live some years ago in a small venue, and I remember the faces and movements of a very mixed crowd enjoying the music, and this song especially. And spontaneously, people were exchanging glances, smiles, and moves to and among each other in the room. I was surprised at whose smile touched me, or whose rhythm looked beautiful. It felt like an abundance of small loves around me. I really have tried to take that with me and to look for that small love from unlikely places that may or may not grow into more, but always gives delight. ❤

I see these people and dream and wonder what these amazing connections would be like to have, only to never act on those dreams (because of fear and anxiety of actually getting that close to people). So I go home alone and sad every night, wishing I could have at least one beautiful, deep, meaningful connection in my life. Love the song and video.

His music hits you right in your soul in a way that is unexplainable. I advise anybody to listen to his full discography. Listen to his new album, "Wasteland, Baby!" It is pure perfection, as always. • Holly Rose. Hi. I like your comment. Ive been in a few narccistic relationships and i learned that theres also the concept of searching for the one you loved in each new relationship. In a relationship, the narcissist sees the one they "love" as a source of supply. In one of the relationships, my boyfriend liked specific types of females. If they met his "criteria", she would be a new target. He may have liked certain things about me and tried to find them in other females. He was always looking for what he thought was best for him and what another one and how they would meet his needs.

  • I've started to think this is actually about someone yearning to be someone confident, loved, and sought after. All the the sex in this doesn't actually happen, she just wishes it were. Meanwhile she's too shy and self conscious to love. I think of myself in this case because I invision myself loving and being loved, but being too scared to actually make a move. Besides, I understand what "Falling in love just a little ol little bit everyday with someone new" because I tend to feel strong emotions (usually love or attraction) with most people I meet. I don't really see this as someone sleeping with a bunch of people to feel loved... But everyone has their own interpretations.

    • +Abby Other Wait. What else do people think it is about? This is the only interpretation I ever thought. Everyday people come across other people and just a glimpse is enough to put that person on a pedestal, wishing they were your friend or lover or something of the sort but you can't just go up to them and tell them to be your friend. That's socially unacceptable. Would things be easier if there was a better way to approach them? What if there is no right way? Should you really just pass on a fleeting chance, even if it doesn't last, at the risk of never being able to again? Either way you've created a bond with that person even without their knowledge. It happens to all of us.

Now I'm an adult navigating life with no manuals, and this song just speaks to me. How I crave connection but is hesitant to initiate it, how I see people on the street and find something beautiful about them but I won't ever tell them, how I wish there was a right way in life but there isn't. I'm just scraping through but if someone wrote a song about it, then I guess I'm not really alone.

  • The music video is cool. Yes, GoT is great. But the first time I heard this song, I didn't assume it was about some sex-crazed or even relationship-obssessed person. You know how you meet new people--whether it be someone you speak to in passing on the sidewalk, or someone who stands beside you at a concert, or is in line behind you at a coffee shop--and you just feel this connection to them, this desire to get to know them better? Even if there's nothing romantic or sexual about it, you just know this is a person who you find yourself fascinated by. And you know you'll probably never see them again, but you still feel it. It happens to me all of the time. That's what the song means to me at least. "I fall in love just a little ol' a little bit everyday with someone new..."

    • To me this song has always been positive as well. I think of it every time I feel particularly happy about my relationship to some person, especially if it's a former stranger in sone way or another. It's my morning after song, but not necessarily for sex. The morning after a sleep-over where we stayed up all night talking. The morning after a party where i danced ridiculously till I was aching with a group of strangers. Things like that.

Especially when seeing other young, beautiful people in relationships, and wondering what is so fucked up about me that I’m young and beautiful but have never tasted love like that... or maybe the world is just fucked up. Because I’ve seen people who appeared to be in love secretly grow to loathe one another, cheat on one another, disappoint one another... it’s just an illusion of happiness sometimes

    • Actually what a few of us here believe is that Dormer is meant to portray the carnal desires and aches for attachments all of us go through over the course of our lives. Her yearning for the love of strangers she may most likely will never know parallels that of ours as we see them in our lives. We can never muster the courage to acquaint ourselves with these people so we resort to idealized fantasies in order to quench our sexual desires / social needs .

    • radhika doraisingam I completely understand your perspective. For me it is as much about how we let our mind's dictate our realities. As if all these mental models of ourselves and the outside world were who we are. Yet as you pointed out we are perplexed because our hearts and bodies keep wanting us to fulfill other desires. We stand atop the cliff in our mind, only to look down, see the rushes and pleasures the waters hold. Yet never end up jumping.

Chasing a little bit of love a little bit of human connection, but not being able to handle true intimacy, and instead settling for fleeting sexual experiences. • That's really too bad, it makes me feel alive, glad to be human and have feelings. He starts by reminding the person he hurt that they knew he was a free spirit all along, he's a social butterfly. It's about having so much desire and affection towards other humans that no one person can hold you down just yet, the right one simply hasn't been found yet. The video portrays someone who feels lonely or empty, but the song doesn't. It's about being free!

    • Just saying, I don't think the song is about falling in love with anyone. It's about loving aspects of different people and falling into those aspects because you're insecure, bored with, tired of, or don't know yourself... Maybe a mix. It a song though, so it's totally down to interpretation. Interpret on!!
