There's a lot more cool stuff in these 3 missions than people realise. How about you watch the video instead of reading this?

  • Just Cause 3’s war missions were the single most underrated feature of the game. The war missions are what I thought the frontline was going to be in Just Cause 4. I was so disappointed to see that these missions have yet to have been topped in the amount of chaos that can occur even without player input. Should Just Cause 5 ever come out rebel and regime encounters should be much more common and large scale. With the next gen consoles I could absolutely see this being doable.

    • I think so too. Perhaps they wanted to do more with jc4's frontlines, but didn't really understand how to tie those into the rest of the gameplay and story. If jc3 could do it 8 years ago, it's certainly possible on modern hardware

  • Interactive war missions like this was what Just Cause 4 severely lacked. No wonder that game killed the series.

    • Absolutely! Missions in jc3 give you a lot of creative freedom. Missions in jc4 give you a giant gun and say: "use this". Which is fun for one time, but doesn't add a lot of replay value

    • Yeah, it would have been a better, richer idea for Just Cause 4 to be more focused on the war itself, giving the “Army of Chaos” (which I would rename, because it sounds stupid and edgy) more of a role in the game. You don’t see them all that much, especially for when you’re meant to be the de facto leader of the entire revolution. It wouldn’t need to be an RTS or anything, but it would have been so damned cool if you could command an actual virtual army, making major decisions about how to wage war against the Black Hand and then helping execute plans, like a true battlefield leader of historic armies. You could go with a theme of Rico finally taking control of the chaos in his life, being promoted from an almost literal agent of chaos to the leader of it. I want to make this and rename the Army of Chaos to “El Fuego Frio” (Spanish for “The Cold Fire”), as it would fit with the theme. Sorry for not quite sticking to the parameters of your comment, by the way.

    • Or maybe the formula just got stale. To me it never had the staying power of GTA, which is more grounded in execution. JC and Saints Row are at their core like playing GTA with an excessive ammount of cheats and it's funny for 5 minutes but then it's just stupid. It's like what people stereotype GTA to be like.

    • @@anotheryoutubeaccount5259 True but Just Cause had the chance to use the whole civil war thing to enhance the gameplay/story experience and differentiate itself from just another GTA clone. The closest they got was JC3 of course but after that with JC4 they really dropped the ball. Saints Row on the other hand was just plain goofy and had no coherent or good story or characters or gameplay after SR2 and I stopped caring about them after SR4.

  • You may have been playing with the Bavarium wingsuit so long you've forgotten how much of an advantage it gives. I recently finished my 2nd playthrough on the base game, and had no problem seeing all three major battles in all 3 region wars. Now that I have the XXl game version, Rico almost seems overpowered. But wow, that is a neat trick with the Eubus Eagle! Thanks for sharing.

    @chadbertrand1460@chadbertrand1460Ай бұрын
    • Heh, there might be some truth to that. For casual playing, I prefer the normal wingsuit, but I'm used to getting it early for speedruns and such. It was also much easier to zip around quickly and get all the footage for the video. But I'm glad that the eagle trick was new to you!

    • Exactly, I was thinking “I have done all these battles (except maybe the last one of Insula Dracon) with 0 issues of completing too fast.”

  • I absolutely loved these missions, but their potential was incredibly wasted. It would be nice if Just Cause 5 expanded upon this system and combined it with the frontlines from Just Cause 4, it would make the game way more immersive and make the rebels/rebellion more significant, and also make the takeover of the country feel like an actual war. In general, I just wish there were more ways to make the rebels/rebellion more interactive, I don't want an RTS but it would make the game feel more alive.

    • Sometimes to include rebels I like to drive to small outposts with an armored car full of rebels and destroy the base with my small squad. The roleplay aspect is really fun but they usually end up dying in the first minute

    • When I first heard about the frontlines I expected something like that. The JC3 region wars are in no way perfect, but there's so many cool ideas and mechanics here that with a bit of refinement you could make it a permanent part of the world instead of limiting it to just 3 missions. I expected the JC4 frontlines to be just that, but instead they're a setback in many ways. I liked the idea of Rico leading his own army, something that was emphasised in the story, but in reality it's just Rico and Mira the hacking god doing everything while the rebels are just eyecandy. Hopefully JC5 can combine the best of both worlds, if it ever sees the light of day

      @hugohair@hugohairАй бұрын
    • @@hugohair If JC5 comes I hope it has similar art style and location as JC3. I rly loved medici and enjoyed this game a lot back in the day. I think JC4 had quite bad graphics compared to it and was bit disappointed.

  • I wish wars like these were happening in roaming mode randomly, or at least these missions were replayable Jc4 frontline system sucks badly. I was so hyped to see it, then disappointed. Not to mention you have an army of clowns there, unlike in jc3, I loved blue rebels.

    @heartpaid6767@heartpaid67673 ай бұрын
    • It's just really pointless, which makes it feel artificial. Frontlines may look cool, but the real progress is made when you go to the map screen and press a button, not in the actual overworld
