If there's no bunny hood, then it sucks.
@@Sylum21the bunny hood never went on adult link
@@poochinsky It does in the OOT Randomizer, which I assume you haven't played yet.
;)
Wow! Thanks for the kind words, as the developer who mainly worked on and designed the village I completely understand your concerns. A lot of the issues have already been, or will be, addressed (especially the torch puzzle... I'm so sorry lol)! An insane amount of effort was put in by the team to get this demo to where it is now, we hope you're excited for what is to come!
It really looks awesome, great work. What's the best way to stay updated on the full game? Would love to try the demo already but also thinking I should save it for the full experience.
It's wonderful, and the village is beautifully complex. 😍
This looks great! I can’t wait for a full release
There is someone creating new engine for SM64 . Maybe you could team up
Did your team design this with the everdrive64 in mind? Would love to play this on original hardware
As a 90s kid, seeing a new game in the classic Zelda OOT style feels beyond magical
I vividly remember dreaming OOT as a kid and in my dreams the world was expanded in ways comparable to this. It feels surreal to witness someone's beautiful creation like this?
@@LukeNasti Sounds like you have amazing dreams
as a 2000 kid i feel the same
@@LukeNasti It’s a strange yet interesting feeling, isn’t it? It’s like going back in time and replaying the best the Zelda franchise has to offer. It’s amazing.
They been doing hd remakes forever but a sequel is pretty nice to see.
This is only a DEMO -- and it's already THIS good!? The full game is gonna be nuts!
I'm hyped. It's such a shockingly rich demo experience.
the full game is goona be DEKU NUTS
Please do not post cringe. Thank you.
@@commracc 100 for a pair of pants. Cringe for cringe.
Amazing! Thank you so much for reviewing! Our dev team had a blast watching this. Your criticisms at the end are totally valid - most of what you pointed out was very common feedback, and we have improved or fixed them internally for the final release. Glad you enjoyed your time with it!
Is there any hot swapping mechanics involved with switching from chapter 1 into 2?
Exciting to hear how active the devs are in making the game perfect. Looking forward to experiencing the final game!
Thank you for you/your team's hard work. This demo was such a joy.
Great demo! Btw Im sure you've heard of ocarina of time and majoras mask multiplayer, but would this/ could this be done in the same way to allow for coop? I loved coop-ing ocarina with my brother and this is too much fun so i'd LOVE to do it in this as well.
You responded how developers should so thank you. Meanwhile Bethesda defends their empty game with "The astronauts who landed on the moon weren't bored because nothing is there". Keep that good attitude and reception to critique and you will have no where to go but up.
I have to say, this is ridiculously impressive. They legitimately added shit into the game beyond the confines of what was initially in the game (every other hack i've seen just is basically level/color swaps). I don't really have words, this is like an entirely new thing
This is just utterly insane, I remember all of my years playing vanilla ocarina of time or any Zelda game at that matter, having to always think outside the box in every situation. This makes you think so outside the box it brings you back in the box.
OOT mods have gotten much more advanced than Zelda's Birthday, which was one of the first OOT mods to have fully new and unique dungeons and areas (despite being fairly simplistic because 2010 standards).
Seeing the Subrosians in this puts a smile on my face ,I’ve missed them so much from the oracle games
The script though needs polishing, mostly choice of words and how characters act since alot of it is modern day words that you wouldn't see in a zelda game. Everything else is just perfection.
If you think the script is rough in this hack, you should play Master of Time. The script of that hack is absolutely wild.
@@GANONdork123 I alreaddy have. It had alot of potential to be a good zelda game, but its strong points were mostly its difficulty in dungeons, however the rest of the game felt like a struggle.
@@WyvernLP I haven't completed it, I just brought it up because of how hilariously out-there the writing is.
I am UnIronically more excited for the full version this than whatever the next zelda is
Seeing the small bits of code I wrote for indigo shown here might be the closest I get to a h4g feature and I am satisfied
You're 100% right, this IS the new gold standard. I was fully immersed and excited playing this and cannot wait for the final product.
I'm really happy with how creepy they made it. They didn't hold back in the ship, that's for sure
Better late than never for this lol. More publicity is definitely needed for this mod tho. This mod is crazy good and I am excited for the final release. Btw, you can use R to crouch down with the deku sticks, no need to swing them to light them with the floor torch.
I know I've said on another video. But this mod incorporating Capcom game elements like weapons, items, enemies and races is everything! Subrosia from Seasons is going to be an amazing area to visit for sure!
Capcom game elements?
Zelda Season,ages and minish cap
Thanks for bringing this to our attention! It looks like one of the most thorough mods for this game I've ever seen and I'm not usually tempted to play them, but this one looks different.
I'm glad the brightness issue was mentioned. Almost every Zelda hack has this problem and since I always play hacks on console it's even worse
Maybe up the brightness on tv if not use emulators
skill issue
@@wyattbarnett3877 I'm not going to use an emulator over actual hardware. Yeah obviously I have to turn up the brightness, but it really sucks that I'm forced to do that
@@joyoustye2326 i dont get why people use actual hardware to a point you cant fix it anymore
"Oops, I think I just killed a Minish" xD
I love how passionate you are about games, and this one. Brings back memories of playing OOT when I was a kid.
this project demo is absolutely amazing I can't wait to see more
Really great looking mod - hope to check this out myself sometime just need to find the time! Happy holidays
I don’t really play video games much anymore but I love the creativity put into projects like these so much! Keep it up!
This looks really good! Thanks for sharing!
I won't go too deep in the video because I don't want to spoil myself But I'm still blown away by this and I'm definitely going to try this out (I'll finish the video after) I consider myself a pretty huge Zelda and each time I'm looking for a mod or something to enjoy, usually it's always something that I already know about but when your channel pops up, it's always to show me something I've never heard of. Thanks a lot for that
This is definetly the first oot mod i'm ready to play, will wait for it to be finished. Very excited.
I remember being a sub back in 2009 as a 10 year old kid iirc times fly. And it has truely changed this channel over the years i miss the guys. Perfect 10 all they boys lol keep going!😊
I like the cukeman quest where you drink green goo and dance
Amazing, thank the algorithm for showing me this and you for making a video about it, ima try it rn
26 years later, OoT DLC finally dropped lol
Wow I had no idea of this. Thanks to the team for remaking the best game ever
Definitely can feel TLC oozing from this mod, and it's inspiring. I think this mod will work well as a tie-between Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess because, in TP, the hero of that era meets his predecessor and his predecessor is garbed in armor and is alluded to having died in battle. I don't think this mod will show that or explain that bit because he would have had to have children prior to his death. Now if this had been modded out to work like a game like Fable 2, then having a family in conjunct with saving this new land would definitely work and you wouldn't have to see a death in the game. You could just assume it occurred afterwards.
Fantastic! also so glad i found your channel today! great stuff! subscribed! I got Hard for this game😮
god DAMN, this is really cool to see. especially the custom enemies from other games, they are so perfectly designed with how well they fit in. and the custom classic items and their animations are so well made. and i gotta agree with the lighting issues. the original OoT manages to have a lot of good spooky dark atmospheres without actually being unable to see
Wow incredible. Hope they finish the game and make it with a good story and many fun quests
Any plans to cover The Sealed Palace? Those devs did an amazing job on that and it deserves some credit and praise imo.
"Now it's called Chapter 2, but it's not really a sequel, it's just _describes a sequel"_
I appreciate the darkness. I feel TotK never becomes night. Of course there's the underground which is VERY dark. But maybe have Tael be able to fly over to points of interest.
They seem to have incorporated alot of the 2D elements of past zelda games in this rom (items, puzzles, enemies, LOCATIONS? etc). It looks really really good, excited to play this full game!
Tony is the gold standard for KZhead Guys
😇
This is awesome definitely downloading this!
oh dear ,this is mind blowing !
I love how this game is still alive after this many years ❤
First video of yours I have watched- great content!! I subscribed 3 minutes in
Thank you!
This mod looks neat i going to play it for sure it's nice having a new video !
Absolutely check it out, it's amazing!
Ive been so excited for indigo❤
Looks INCREDIBLE
I usually don't like mods but this one omg... it's like the 3rd Zelda 64 I've always wanted!!! Brand new places, story, mechanics and itens? YES! Gotta play this for sure!!!
Glad to see you still killing it Tony! Hard4life
10:50 That criticism resonates strongly with me. Holy crap it was hard to see in a few areas. I was playing on original hardware over S-video on my CRT TV and there were a good number of areas I was virtually blind. Almost just black. Though darker than shown on video, I could still make out more the redead zombies. A few areas in the ship level were also a bit disorientingly dark. Didn't have difficulty with any of the enemies or the torches you brought up, but those poison toads were an annoyance and a half with how short the delay is between grabbing you. Learned to just shoot them from afar. If I could see them, lol.
Glad you didn't have issues with the torches. Probably mostly a "me" issue. But yeah...they gotta brighten it up. It's blinding at times.
This looks really amazing, but I'm gonna wait until they're done so I can play the entire thing without having to wait for new chapters. Good work, everyone involved!
10:00 - 11:00 Yup, those are VERY common game-design and -balancing issues, that the younger, especially solo-devs often overlook. It's one of the reasons why every dev worth his salt ALWAYS instruct their pupils to PROTOTYPE and constantly PLAYTEST their game's ideas, preferably with people who have nothing to do with the project itself. It's way too easy for the artists to become "blind" to their own product's flaws, thus not being able to step into the fist-time player's shoes. While some of these shortcomings could be explained with "it's meant for OoT x MM veterans!", things like the too dim lighting definitely just demonstrate lack of artistic eye. Even Nintendo added a faint glow underneath link's feet, and made most dark areas + night times instead have a dim lighting of blues, greens and purples. The combat arena of Gohma and the entire Shadow Temple are great examples, not to mention the MM's Skulltula house near the sea shore.
no lies spoken in the intro. this looks incredibly promising.
Omg I had no idea that the modding community has come this far. Thanks KZhead algorithms for this video, I can’t wait to check them out
I am currently playing Indigo chp 2 on a n64 console through everdrive for the authentic experience. Despite some significant lag spikes it is still a very fun experience!
7:43 link was assaulted 😂
Cant wait to play it!
WOW! This looks like it took an incredible effort to make. It’s so strange to see an evolved N64 game that retains the same graphical style. The environments look huge liminal and as eerie as they were in the original. I just wish I had the machinery to run it.
Oh... my god... Scary Deku Tree! 7:57 YAAAAAAAAAAAY! CRUSH! Did you just...?
That mansion and the fast zombies that only dies for good by fire are definitely based on Resident Evil
This looks incredible
I'd love to see a Ship of Harkinian compatible release
The world design and texture-work looks amazing. Everything else too is so good it could be nintendos 3rd game for the 64.
If you use the shield while holding a deku stick, you'll crouch and the still will lay across the ground, letting you light it. This was also the case in the original game :P
This is incredible!
I never thought I would be excited about a fan mod again, Black Mesa was a one of in my experience, actually so was BF:DC, but those are the only fan mods I've ever considered up to the real game's standards, in Black Mesas case, it's even better than HL1, so this is really cool to see. I really hope Nintendo have been hard at work on TLOZ: OOT & MM remake for the Switch 2 launch, it would also explain the lack of a Zelda anniversary celebration release, and the only thing that can top BOTW & TOTK.
I love the candle enemies. They came from the Oracle games or links awakening right?
I need this!
I really hope the final project runs on real hardware.
This looks so cool!
Who ever did this hack most be a professional because he did a great job
utilize 'em
Can you please make a video on how to compile the rom into a WAD?
9:00 just shield with stick in hand
my dad will not play anything other than zelda so i might have to get him to try this, looks great
Love HArd 4GAMES YEA
They become hard for games. This game looks awesome!
I hope we see how the hero of time became the hero's shade
You can tell it’s the twilight version of Link from his bracers
This looks sick
For years my headcanon for the Hero of Time has been: - Ocarina of Time - The Missing Link (Romhack) - Majora's Mask - Master of Time (Romhack) Looks like Indigo could be set to replace Master of Time as the post-Majora's Mask game!
All love from above ❤
Thank you for the review! So is chap 2 a remake of chap 1? Or should I start with chap 1?
A remake of a few parts, but also has lots of new content.
This is what I imagined. Would love to play this. But with like unreal engine combined with indigo. Gzz
Will this be able to be released for use with a flash cart?
I'm playing it on my GPD Win 2 since yesterday. I stuck on the first Dungeon but it's a hard but nice game and I'm looking forward for the full game Is Indigo Chapter 2 like Super Mario Sunshine Arcade 2, which has the Part 1 + the new Part 2?
Incredible rom hack! The enemt design has more depth and difficulty than the original n64 enemies. The shields have unique abilites and i found the ancient deku tree dungeon to be better than the one from oot. Constructive criticism: ancient deku tree needs a different and more difficult boss, the village designs need more detail, and field areas could use more. I understand the final game will have more detail. Im looking forward to the final relese!
@Hard4Games do you happen to have any Japanese DS Download Station cartridges? I ask because several of the game ROMs are lost media
I do not, unfortunately. Will keep my eye out!
When does the full version come out? what programs does it require to get it working?
the type of game i would dream on as a sequel to the original OOT back in the 90s...
When I see the words "oh my god" I know I'm dealing with an ass clown.
This is amazing, and I can't wait. Once it's finished, do you think it would make sense to play chapter 1 first? I know that sounds like a dumb question...lol Edit: Ah, it seems like the "chapters" are demo portions of a single future product. Seems like it's a good idea to play them all.
someone should make a souls-like using the zelda 64 decomp
this reminds me of ALTTP in 3D
so late i thought the actual game got released
Nintendo needs to hire these people or release a Zelda building game or both!
LMAO!!
Is there something like this but without being a new game? Like, the same ocarina of time, but now with bigger, more detailed maps with more npcs, etc... you know, a bigger scale.
Just realizing that this is sort of like the Oracles games
Can this be played in an actual N64 via an Everdrive?
Was going to ask the same. Hopefully someone answers here
Wow, I've always loved the aesthetics of the N64 Zelda games and have always wanted more, so ROM hacks have interested me, but I've never committed to playing one. Mainly, I've always really thirsted for one that feels like a genuinely official experience, and this is the closest I've seen thus far. It really is amazing work. I'll definitely play this when it comes out, but I've also never seriously jumped into emulators and ROM hacks. Is this particularly complicated to get set up?
It's not hard to set up at all. You just need Project 64, a copy of the original .z64 OOT 1.0 rom, and the .bps patch of the mod. Then you can just patch the rom using an online patching tool and run it directly in PJ64
