In May I will have a spinnerbait or swim jig ready for the shad spawn. I like the Texas rig and C-Rig off shore as well, but I also like a deep diving crankbait during post spawn.
I’ve been bass fishing for over 40 years and my 2nd technique that I learned was the Texas Rig using the 7.5” Culprit plastic worm. My favorite colors to use were the black w/ fire tail and the grape w/ fire tail. My 1st technique was top-water using a Rapala Jointed Minnow (gold/black color). I had one rod/reel setup and it was the Shimano Bantam Mag Plus baitcaster (Google it to see stock image) on a 5-6 Zebco rod with a pistol grip handle. I still have that setup and it still casts amazingly well. Thanks for uploading this video. Enjoyed watching it. 👍👍
I’m with you on that T-rig worm💯😜🎣 I went to Jordan lake yesterday and tried shallow top water looking for bluegill beds,Nope!! Then went to a point with a long bank that had a drop off and plenty of rock and wood,threw a ZMAN Fattyz in Bruiser color and got two 5+ pound post spawn girls and they were running a small ledge from 4’ to 7’ and I just ordered the Mag Fattyz, I do have to search the websites to find my favorite colors 😮 but can’t wait find some big girls fattening up before the heat wave hits. Water temps are 71* to 74* right now 🍀🎣🍀 Rylee and Katie are still in my prayers 🙏🙏🙏
