  • Fun fact: Scott Cawthon didn't invent the Indie Horror genre he just Tolkien'd his way there by making FNAF look that way. There had been other titles but FNAF did earn it's originality in the form of having a story you actually miss entirely in the first game if you do nothing but survive it. Only a hanful of Flash Games dared be that bold and mocking of their players and most of them are obscure for a reason. That said I love that Chuck came out and was like "You're all a rip off me! RNNYRAGH!" XD Hilarious.

It's a very fascinating endless chain of events honestly. And if you want to keep going farther than Chuck E. Cheese, you can technically say he came after Mickey Mouse, a anthropomorphic mouse mascot, with Chuck E. Cheese piggybacking off of, being an anthropomorphic rat mascot. And then going even further than Mickey Mouse, we have Felix the Cat, who literally revolutionized the cartoon era, which Mickey then piggybacked off of. Nothing is original, and there will always be some form of inspiration from other forms of fiction to shape brand new fictional stories. At the end of the day, we all just want to make a fun game/show/book, etc.

  • Here’s a fact. Fnaf was actually inspired by a Chuck E Cheese shooting in 1993 where 4 employees, thankfully not kids were killed. It was in Aurora Colorado. The suspect was a mentally ild 19 year old named Nathan Dunlap. He was eventually found hours later and was arrested by police. He was soon put on death row after the crime. However more than a decade later, he along with 3 men were spared from death and instead was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole whatsoever. It’s true. Look it up
