As the safety of jurors in Donald Trump's New York criminal trial become an important focus ahead of opening statements on Monday, another person put at risk by Trump's impulsive belligerence is Trump himself as his lawyers consider whether to put him on the witness stand. NBC News correspondent Vaughn Hillyard and former Manhattan prosecutor Catherine Christian discuss concerns about the jury and whether there's any way that Donald Trump testifying isn't a bad idea.

Juror bias should be the key focus. How did they find jurors who didn't already have a strong opinion of Trump?
They've done everything that they do in this process for EVERY OTHER TRIAL in criminal court. In all cases, the jurors' identities are to be kept private. The attorneys know what they're doing. They do this all of the time. A lot of these people don't even pay attention to news or want to think about politics.

Even the State Sanitarium patients know of T**** surely. But it's the capacity of the juror to be impartial by detaching herself from what's available outside and only be exposed to the court transcripts, the ones allowed by the court to consider as to the margin of guilt necessary to convict. Though I think the jury should be sequestered, to avoid outside influence and other such contamination of the jury pool.

1. The law requires that the defendant be able to see everyone involved. 2. There really needs to be a one way mirror that divides the view from the jurors towards Trump. They should be able to see him, and he should not be able to see them because of the proof that he keeps intimidating jurors, one of which was brought to tears. It cannot be that hard to place a one way mirror on a portable stand to ensure he gets no look at the jury. This kind of behaviour from trump should also be officially warned to him and any breach of looking in their direction for example should qualify him for contempt of court.
