After loosing my husband Sept 1, 2023, I am finally starting to go through my house and clean throughly. I will spend my winter doing a little at a time. It takes me longer now because I have a pacemaker and need to rest and can’t clean like I did before like you do. I will be 74 in early December but love a neat and orderly home. Things have gotten away from me and you inspire me so much, I have been following you for over a year and watch each video. You remind me of myself in my younger days. Thank you for all you do, I have cleaned and helped people for free since I was young. I grew up on a dairy farm and we worked starting at a young age and learned to help others. I love watching you clean. My brother in law is a successful professional who has lived alone for 15 years or so. He is moving back home to be with family the end of this month. I have been driving 6 hours one way weekly to help clean and pack things up to bring back here. My husband is working with contractors to get his new home ready down the street from us. I told my brother in law 3 years ago that due to multiple health problems, if he didn’t move here to be back with family… I was afraid he would die. I am a nurse with 30+ years experience. Luckily he listened…. Retired and is moving back home. We are so excited. Due to COVID no one was able to really travel to check in physically with him. It took me 4 days initially to dust his home alone. He was working 60+ hours a week and is a national specialist in his field. Now that we have made such strides cleaning and prepping both homes he can start a new chapter.
Sounds like you need to employ a weekly cleaner for him when he moves back or you will be designated with it .
@@sarahholland2600 interestingly I retired 3 months ago and am now his personal assistant. So yep I will be responsible for errands, cleaning and anything else he designates for me to do. He is almost matching my nursing salary to do this, and he singlehandedly allowed me to retire at 55. Win. Win.

I just realized that your videos have been like exposure therapy for me. Ive had a strong physical reaction to cockroaches since i was a little girl. Now i can look at your videos and feel barely anything. Combining something I love, deep cleaning, and something I don't, cockroaches, really made a huge difference for me. I started watching you, A Beautiful Mess and Midwest Magic Cleaning about the same time. You guys are such a bright, shining place in a world that can be very dark sometimes. I hope this family can begin to view cleaning their home a little differently after your help, yes, it's tiring, especially with work and childcare. But if everyone thinks of their home as Home, a sanctuary, a safe place where they can breathe, housework becomes self care. It's home, our nest, our place to feel peace. Developing good habits like putting things away in their proper place, picking up after oneself, building routines together to keep our home clean will serve everyone. FYI, here’s a tip I learned from my vet. If you put a pet flea collar in your vacuum cleaner bag, it will kill spiders and insects you vacuum up. It doesn’t have to be an expensive one. A cheap one from Walmart does the job.
I can't be in the same place where there are so many roaches! I can't even imagine cleaning a place and divide my space with them. It s likely me running away in the first opportunity. Good job girl! You truly are brave!

Roaches are attracted to electricity. I once worked for a cable company and the tech's would go to a home to exchange DVR's and other electronic equipment. When they disconnected them, hundreds of roaches would come running out of the equipment! They get into the motors of refrigerators and then into the interior, they get into anything electronic.
You are so brave! Bugs gross me out soooo bad! LOL Wonderful clean up.. Too bad the roaches don't just go away. You and "random" Johnny (lol) Did a wonderful thing for this lady. You guys are such great people! Take care, see you on the next one!

Having watched many of your videos I am struck by how this "Depressed, so I/we live in filth" lifestyle cuts across social and economic classes. That's such a nice apartment too- I can't even imagine how much the rent is after binge watching Cash Jordan videos of rooms without their own bathroom the size of an actual closet going for 1k per month in NYC lol! This has to be like a 4k+ apartment.

Amazing transformation as always. And I have to thank you especially for giving me new cleaning ideas. I've been wanting to clean my kitchen cabinets, but I am 5'3" and cannot get on a ladder to reach the higher cabinets (mobility issues). Using that scrubby wand to clean and a rag on the end to wipe the cabinets down was such a great idea. It is definitely something I'm going to try. Thank you for all you do and how you generously help people in need. ❤

You guys did an amazing job! A difficult task!! I had new neighbors move in next to me and they brought unwanted roommates to me!! I had not done a deep purge or cleaning after the loss of my son four years ago. I sunk into a deep depression. But I’ve been watching yours, Mac’s and Bonnie’s videos to keep me motivated!! I’m disabled but I’m taking my time and getting it done! It is a process! God bless you for all that you do!! ❤❤
I had the same problem in an apartment many years ago. My then-boyfriend/now-husband and I were very clean but the neighbors on all sides of us, next door and above/below us weren’t. We had roaches almost this bad and it didn’t matter how clean we were, they were in the electrical work of the apartment. And our landlords wouldn’t do anything about it. We moved to a townhouse in another city where we never had this problem and we have now owned two houses (not at the same time!), where we never had a problem. If you live in attached housing and the neighbors don’t clean their unit, you will have an infestation!

That was amazing! So glad you got the scrub brush on a stick. I know that saved your back and knees. Now you just need a squeegee with a long handle. My skin was crawling seeing all the roaches behind the fridge! But when you started vacuuming them up, 👍🏾👍🏾. The end result was wonderful. That family is fortunate to have your help

I always worried about where the bugs and dirt went to hide be sure I will tell Mack that you own the magic on that front or back and sides , only you showed that !!!

A wonderful job! I'm so glad you were able to help this family out. I can't imagine the stress of having an autistic child AND a depressed one, too. You are a Godsend to them, I'm sure. I clean homes for a living, but usually just ones that are being maintained. If I ever take on a move-out clean again, I have GOT to get me one of those spinning scrubber tools!! That would have made some of the jobs I've done SO much easier!

That’s exactly what they are. I lived in an apartment complex that was entirely infested and the owners wouldn’t do a thing. We cleaned like crazy, set out roach treatment, and they kept coming back. They were living in the electrical work. Thankfully I now live in a region where roaches are very rare and I haven’t seen one in years. They are so disgusting.
OH my, that's a lot of roach scat. I didn't even know Spic N Span was available anymore. It's awesome for removing wax off the floor!

Remember that cockroaches can get into an apartment via the water supply if the u-bend has dried out.

Roachs are so common in big cities i lived in Montreal Canada and one of the apartment i lived in had some, it can really take a toll on your mental health.. we always kept the apartment clean but there's no stopping them ... I greatly sympathies ❤
