  • I wish people that talk bad about hunting would just see what you guys do. I don’t think a lot of people realize how respectful and caring hunters are towards the animal and landowners. Hunting is so much more than killing an animal and you guys show that, so thank you for what you do!!

    • Problem is there are poachers and ppl with less respect who find it fun or funny to overkill... not ask permission... etc. And people who don't hunt think us hunters don't have a problem with that. Believe us... we fight against those guys 10x harder then you could imagine. And it's not only about how it makes us look. It's about disrespecting wild life and others property. Once Word goes around farms will start shutting down new ppl coming in. Which makes it harder on us. And puts ALOT of pressure on wild life in general. We are wild life's number one fan... trapping and shooting predators.... running dogs for coons to keep population of turkey up etc. It's a way of life many don't understand and that's okay! But before you criticize the outdoorsman... just spend a day with one. I wish someone would come to me that's against it and just spend a full day or two to just see how respectful resourceful and all we really are

  • Watching this video and being from Alabama just made my day. Our turkeys here are really smart. For that one guy to give you permission and for you to get it done. There is still good people out there and the ones in Alabama are just different. If I knew that guy with that land I would not care if he gave me permission or not I would still want to be friends with him. God Bless and take care.

  • Congratulations on that awesome turkey Mr. Ellis! Awesome video and hunt that’s for sure! As honest hunters it is a great feeling to get permission (even if it’s only for 1 day) on that one spot you’ve been dreaming about hunting every time you drive by it. What a lot of landowners who don’t want anybody hunting on their property don’t understand is unless they are walking the land everyday or they have somebody guarding it for them 24/7 I’d say 7/10 times ol Bubba Ray and his gang of poachers will sneak in and hunt it somehow someway. Whether they catch them trespassing or not somebody will sneak in and hunt if there’s any way possible especially if there’s a huge buck that’s been spotted in the area. Good honest hunters will look after your land and keep it clean and prevent a lot of that trespassing from happening most of the time. You guys sure make a lot of us Ga hunters proud!!!! Thank you for sharing all your hunting and fishing adventures with us!! SeekOne is NumberOne for sure!!!

  • What an awesome hunt Lee. How good was old mate giving you access! As someone that moved from suburbia to semi rural so I could get just a couple of acres, I understand the privilege I have. Having wild game walk through my land and being able to hunt and share it with a few people is something I don't take for granted. So long as people are respectful, don't trespass, and obey any rule the landowner has, there is enough for all of us. Keep doing what you're doing mate. Cheers

    • @Matthew Scearce The best advice I can give you is get to where you're hunting at least 20 min before first light. Just listen to see if you hear one gobble. If you do make sure you set up 50 yards farther than he could even possibly see you. Then call a bit while he is still in the tree. You will hear him fly down once he does keep him talking and change up your calls a couple times slate, reed, box call what ever you have. When he gets closer just use a mouth call and be vary still.

    • So there's obviously alotta landowners I've found to be harder than other's towards granting me access to hunting their property. I used to believe that they were just hateful and mean towards hunting and hunters, when in reality most are really nice people that have simply been done wrong by "hunters" that they've given permission to hunt in the past. If you'll explain to them your "wants" to hunt their property and your passion for the outdoors that can sway them. You can simply introduce yourself and say you've got some beautiful property that I'd love to hunt, tell them a little about yourself, and let them know that you don't need an immediate answer. Tell them you'll stop back by in 3 or 4 days to give them some time to think it over and talk to their husband or wife about it.. It takes the pressure off of them to give you a flat out yes or no answer on the spot. Example, farmer John says of course you can hunt it, and you think to yourself awesome only to pull up the evening before opening morning to rooste a bird and good ole farmer John says well buddy i know i told you yes but I'm sorry to say that the wife isn't too thrilled about it. That's basically a no for those of you that might not be married.😂 They say hell hath no furry like the wrath of a woman, or something like that. All of this of course works best a week or 2 before season actually starts. And, if i feel like a property owner is leaning on the fence a little when it comes to saying yes I'll really step it up a notch and say tell ya what I'll do, I'll have a Hold Harmless Agreement packet written up and signed by "you" the landowner and myself. This is done by a professional attorney. You can Google it, but in short it's basically saying that they aren't liable if something happens to you while on their property. Alotta times that'll sweeten the deal as we're living in a sue crazy world. I've learned a few tricks and tactics in my 36 years of deer and turkey hunting. Oh and never get frustrated if someone still says no, keep asking around, be prepared and have a full tank of gas and make a day of it. I'll on average pick up at least 3 or 4 places if i ask say 20 people in a day. And, to all of you who've never asked and might be intimidated don't be, the worst they can say is get the hell off my property. That sometimes happens too, but you never know unless you ask. It starts here in Florida middle of March and I'm already jacked watching your vids. Good job fellas and congratulations on a nice bird. Btw in case readers are wondering why i ask so many people it's bcuzz i guide spring gobbler hunts hmu. Good luck to all this coming spring and remember to hunt safe and wear your snake boots. We have alotta critters here in Florida.
