  • I noticed when you drove off with the trailer on you had the front wheels in the air because the draw bar sits to high! Turn you drawbar upside down and you won’t have an issue 👍

  • Adrian drill the centre sleeve of the crush gate and pillar it's on in the open position. You can then stick a bolt or pin in it to keep it open. We had to do it on our gate. Smashing heifers you have there.

  • Bolt a gate hanger on to the shuttered wall in line with the head gate and drop a pin down through it and into the pipe of the head gate to keep it open, works perfect, I’ve it done myself

  • Love your curved gate system. Wish my dad had something like that for loading hogs (always such fun growing up - not!). You handle your cows very nicely. Same weather here. Only 3 weeks until the days start lengthening 😀

    • @@georgiaannbicknell6129 cattle wont chew the zip ties is the main thing once you cut the 'tail' off them, but if you cut the baler twine a bit after the knot they wont be able to chew it much, I use baler twine as theres loads of it and it's always closer than zip ties

  • Bend a bit of steel and slide it into the holes at the top of the crush and that will hold it for you

    • Seen that too, never seen anyone put the ball on top of the hitch like he did there, have seen the top part of the cleat loosened and moved out of the way, and the ball put on the lower section but turning the hitch upside down would be much better idea.

    • .Good video .. I have seen these trailers to crack the chassis when there is no weight on front axle of the trailer. . .. some tractors you can't true hitch upside down... not sure about that Massey.

  • We have the same sort of crush gate there is a hole up at the top on the side we slide a bolt in there to keep it open

  • Greetings from County Antrim, love your channel and from previous earlier experience in farming ( Yorkshire Dales) etc I can relate to the time and effort you put into your enterprise and the quality of animal husbandry and attention to detail. Cleaning out the livestock trailer etc. You must get decent grants for your galv gates etc the way it should be for increased safety factor. Excuse my thumbnail(my young son). Respect and I am fully subscribed.👍

  • I have the same crush gate, i removed the spring under the lid of the crush gate and it stopped it from springing closed, only thing is that will have to be closed manually with it removed

  • For the crush. If you drill a hole through the outer sleeve right through the inner when the gate is open and put a bolt into it and it’ll hold it open. Hope this helps Adrian

  • I bored a hole through the two pipes in the crush gate and put a pin in it stops outer pipe rotating on outside pipe then holds gate open. Keep up good videos

  • Put a spring latch pin on was and long enough to hold the gate and I'd things goes belly up you can pull the latch and gate closes

Love what you did with the new lights on the tractor and talking about the trailer. It will really enhance what you have already done with the trailer. Lights are something we need that often get overlooked because they are small. But as you showed us, can make a world of difference when they are properly operational.

  • Excellent video as usual!. Just wondering what kind of power washer you use for washing the trailer, I have to hook up the tractor pto washer every time. Bit cumbersome, would be good to have a powerful washer at the ready all the time, have an electric washer but that doesn't really do the job! Thanks

  • Invest in a 3 point linkage ball hitch you can keep your trailer level at all times

    • This is dangerous as there is no down pressure on a 3 point hitch. The 3 point could raise up, the trailer nose will be in the air and trouble ahead. Think about it.
