  • I recently purchased my e3v2 and bought the aluminum extruder, new Bowden tube, couplers, bed springs and upgraded as I assembled. My first 4 prints came out 99% perfect after leveling the bed, z stop etc., very minor stringing and bulging. My bl touch arrived 2 days later and on it went. I was able to print exactly nothing with the bl touch added, tried many different firmware, it would just probe the bed then think it was done with the print. After fighting it for a week I removed it and am printing great again. So I dunno about the bl touch 🤷‍♂️

Everything seems fine but cant get my extruder axis to work. Do you have any clue what is happening? Appreciate any help of guide. I dont know if I need a new board, or motor, or cables or psu… driving me crazy! Thanks!!!!

  • The reason you couldn't revert the firmware may be because you have to rename the file. It won't flash a file name it's seen before. Also, regarding the BLTouch, try turning the adjustment screw down the center of the sensor. I had the same problem with it crashing into the bed, but after turning that screw about 1 turn clockwise, it works great.

    @LogicBob@LogicBob3 жыл бұрын
    • Appreciate the info bro. I tried remaining the file multiple times though :( I'm honestly not sure wtf the issue was. As for the bltouch I found out there is some bug with the marlin firmware, and the ender 3 v2 LCD screen. I guess they are aware of it, but it hasn't been updated yet.

    @tkyhntr7855@tkyhntr78552 жыл бұрын
    • Thats awesome! This printer should be able to print the parts to do that, depending on the size of his rockets & planes. Normally with 3D planes, you use carbon fiber for the frames, and then print the rest of your pieces with a 3D printer. As for the software, yes. There are programs like tinkercad that he can design his own models with. I have a video on my channel explaining the basics, and how to use tinkercad. • Question, if you wanted to keep a budget on a new 3d printer to no more than $350, would you go with the Ender 3 V2 and buy all the mods for it? or would you go a different route and just buy a different 3d printer?

    @ericc8895@ericc88953 жыл бұрын
    • Great Question. I think the Ender 3 V2 is currently the best "entry level" 3D printer. Honestly, you don't need to do any upgrades to it. It will print just fine stock. These upgrades are just very small things you can add over time, to get little improvements.

  • Cool man. I don't have an Ender 3, I have a v1 CR-10 and end up watching a lot of Ender videos since they are quite similar in their setup. I have the TH3D unified firmware on it with a BLTouch. It was definitely a major pain in the ass to setup, but now that I got it done I could probably do it in a 1/10th of the time. SUPER happy that I added the auto bed leveling, makes things so much easier. Pretty sure that the newer TH3D unified firmware 2 is all setup to work with the BLtouch on the Ender 3. You should really check out CHEP's Magic Cura Profiles. They are pretty damn good. He does tons of Ender videos. www.chepclub.com/cura-profiles.html He does have a video on how to import them into Cura, but thats pretty easy to figure out. I'm about to install a dual gear extruder since I print a lot of TPU also for quads. Although, I've never had an issue with my single gear extruder, even with NinjaFlex. Rarely use that stuff, usually use 95A TPU and that feeds fine on a single gear, but they say the prints will be cleaner on a dual gear, so I'm gonna try that. Anyway....thanks for the upload and check out CHEP's profiles. Also, when you do end up doing the ABL you should get some silicone "springs" for the bed. I had some of those yellow springs and they work great for non ABL setups, but I quickly figured out that having more of a solid bed mount works a lot better for ABL. I had to add 2 washers underneath the silicone ones I have cuz the bed was just a bit too low and the Z axis would bottom out on the frame. Working great now though, super locked in, but has a tiny bit of give.

    • Agreed. Probably the best 3rd party firmware all-around. The Z offset and aux-level tool are dope.

  • Use the Smith3d bl touch firmware, 5x5 slow 👍 use the pin setup on the right side of the page Once setup than Aux level, Z offset than auto level, save settings, done. Oh don't forget you will need to swap the blue and red wire at the main board plug and shave the 2 wire plug to fit the connector in. The picture on the page shows a brown wire not a blue Bl touch works fine dude. smith3d.com/ender-3-v2-bltouch-firmware-installation-guide-by-smith3d-com/

    • It's like night and day compared with original springs. They stay in place, and you may never had to adjust them again. Especially when paired with BLTouch.

    • @@anol18 i think bltouch is worthless if u have the springs since u never need to adjust it anyway

    • @@r00kiet80 But it's way easier to get a perfect leveled bed with BLTouch (IMO) - the nozzle height can be adjusted from the display, and not by readjusting the knobs. The springs will help keeping the knobs tight and the bed in place. I didn't regret getting both upgrades, but each to their own...

  • I will actually tell you where you messed up. It’s not the firmware. You have to actually write two lines of code into your machine before you run the BLtouch. The creality firmware is actually Marlin. If you don’t program the lines of code into it, it will crash in your bed. I’ve had absolutely zero problems with mine.

    • Yea I have upgraded my firmware, and tried multiple different firmware. The issue is the Bltouch wiring is not shielded and causes electrical interference. I have since switched to an EZABL. You said you haven't had any issues with yours at all? Are you running the Ender 3 v2 as well? Would be interested to know how yours has been working for you. Sorry for the late reply.

      @509drone2@509drone22 жыл бұрын
    • @@509drone2 Yes, I am running the V2. I did not route the wiring for the touch inside of the wiring shielding for the rest of the wiring. I routed it on the outside. I also shielded it when I ran it I inside of the base of the machine. I have not had one single issue and I have had it on there for over a year. It works fantastically. I hear that people have trouble with PCM interference but I didn’t put the wire close to the others. It is completely separate from everything else. It works exactly as it was designed. No complaints
