This is a goddamn $60-$70 headset. You're lucky it makes sound. Stop worrying about all that other shit.
So, would you recommend them?
I have one, and it is not for everyone. I have done 2 mods that have improoved my listening experience. I have removed the cloth from the pads, it's an improovement on openess and also confort (the cloth was rubbing my ear). The other is a 3d printed cover that sits arround 4mm away from the driver. It gives a litlle more punch on the mid highs that lacks without it. I have listened straight from the laptop, the cel phone and also using an external DAC/Amp (old Fiio E17) and on the main system (V-DAC + Sabaj PHA3 with russian tubes). It's easy to drive, but the quality, dynamics and impact is absolutelly improoved if you use good source / amp gear. It goes very well with prog rock, jazz and other kind of music that benefits from the extra hoomp on the bass.
Got one for 50 bucks brand new. What the fuck should I have done with the money? Nothing else
It's a $60 headphone but still quality to the consumer is paramount. I agree with you!
5:00 "But at $60 you have stuff like the original 9500." If you have a source for the original 9500 at $60 (new, not used) you should provide a link.
Keyboard definitely.
Idk.. I've had these for about 2 years and I like them, but I wanna upgrade to like a HD58X or something.
I just bought an HD58x for future reveiw to see how it compares. Im glad my negativity about these headphones didn't ruin your enjoyment of the SHP9600. Stay tuned for the reveiw.
i hate tehem, and hate how they discontiinued the better sph9500 which looked better and were more flat sounding
