WOW how good are all these ebikes looking? which would you be going for? I'm loving the Cannondale!
Speaking of range on the new bikes, I'm happy with my Levo 700WH battery. I've used it all up in one day before but honestly I was done before it was at 20%
Can't wait for the ebike motor test!! Hope it will have a section comparing the phone apps of each one too!!
Yes it will
I love ❤️ my opti bike from USA 190 NM of power. It's very fast and will climb a tree. 3:42
These bikes are too expensive and gutless
@samsbikes Excellent videos my man! Excited to see the rest of the motor tests. Are you going to be able to do a review on the 2024 Norco Fluid VLT with the Bosche SX motor?
I rode the e160 lite on Monday, what a fantastic bike it is. Compared to my e160 9000 it's like night and day, motor performance is superb and the new longer slacker geo makes it a true enduro machine now. The old bike was great, but this new bike is next level.
Wow thanks for the feedback I’m loving the look of the new Merida the old ones where amazing but as you said this is next level
Every year, new batteries, mounts, chargers, motors which are obsolete in 2/3 years. So much e waste generated by the e-bike industry- like where mobile phones were 15 years ago. Need to agree a standard, The same goes for e scooters.
TQ is helping standardize things with a bunch of bikes using the same TQ motor. I’ve had 2 ( warranty returned-not the motor) and I’ve been really impressed with my trek Fuel EXe. I don’t think tq is going anywhere so I’m excited about it. It’s so quiet and lots of power when I need it. But overall I agree with you.
From the comments I've seen most moaners can't afford one anyway. Certainly not buying a new flagship model every year. If more people ponied-up the price would come down. Just stop drinking alcohol and you'll quickly afford one.
@@Silverbeardedsurfer My comment was not about affordability 😆, everyone in the late 90’s 2000’s had a mobile 📱 but until they standardised chargers, and batteries there was SO MUCH E waste! This is what is happening with the emtb industry (I have one btw), batteries, fittings, sizes, connections and chargers. My point was about the generation of unnecessary “e waste”.
@@markgriffiths409 I understand. I just don't thinks it's such a prolific issue.
I remember the big deal they made when Shimano bought the ep8 out and it had all the mounting points in the same location as the old gen motor, all the bike manufacturers did a big F you and didn’t support the upgrade!
I agree. The Cannondale looks amazing!
Yep 👍 I want one
Crack and fail haha! Good luck with the big C…
I ‘d love to know the info on each bike if the battery is removable as I need to charge it externally. For me a go/no-go criteria. Otherwise thanks for the short introduction of the new bikes. They look fantastic and great to see more and more bikes below the 20kg threshold.
I love the passion for ebikes!
Thanks Rider
I like very much the new Cannondale. We are almost "there", where the super light bike and the full power merge together. But, like u said, a range extender would be welcome. And i would add that i would prefer a removable battery, even if it cost a couple pound of weight penalty.
Yes mate I want this bike and the colour ways are dope!
I am one lucky lady to now own the Specialized Levo Ltd Ohlins edition... It's absolutely fantastic!! LOVE IT!!! Already done over 200 miles on it! That colour just pops!!
lower battery pack capacity not necessarily means less weight - at least significantly speaking; typically lower capacity pack will use same number of cells (where bulk of the weight is) but at lower energy density per cell which means little less lithium in them which is matter of grams/ 10s of grams.
Ok good to know thanks 🙏 rider
Big bike the Scott ransom 920 eride. 180 mm front and rear. Won bike on the year twice. How could you miss that
There's a new Fezzari (now Ari) mid-power, mid-weight just out! Looks like a winnner.
Yep I found out 2 days after shooting this video!
I completely agree with you mate on the internal battery of the new e-160. I found out yesterday about this new bike and when I started reading the Merida promo they talk about about being 2 different bike one light weight and one with lots of range. I think 600wh it's a lot of battery, like you said it could have a smaller battery 400-500 that would do a 2-3hr ride and offer the extender if you want a longer ride. But still it looks like a killer bike, one that I would consider trading my previous e160 for. I just don't know if I want an "SL" type of bike or a full fat. I only ride in trail and love the natural feel of the EP8, but sometimes I think I should ride an SL as I don't need all the power most of the time, but then again is good to have it available when you just want to smash a few laps and get to the top quickly... If the new e160 was around/below 20kg it could have been the perfect of both words for me.
Yep 👍 they could of smashed the market wide open with a 450wh internal and 300wh range extender
Hanging to try the new e160, had the 2019 one, and it was so playful
Oh dude me too
The Cannondale looks amazing! I’m curious to try it out and check how it performs being the slackest one.
Yep 👍 agree and it needs a range extender and not sure bout the flex 💪 chainstays need to try it
It looks too slack! Whoah
The Crestline is in a league of its own. Great bike. But too expensive.
It’s very expensive but it looks amazing
Call Troydon at Crestline and see if he has any demos. I never ever ride my other bikes. The Crestline is awesome
The merida seem to be a great bike too. Nice geo, low weight, but sadly not available in Canada.
Yep it looks like a beast! It’s so strange how big Merida is and don’t sell in America or Canada
For me a Merida 160 with a 600 watt battery and a 360 booster would be spot on. Most days 600 watts would be enough, but 500 watts simply isn’t. But a 300+ watt booster battery is amazing especially as you carry a second one in your pack. As for internal suspension… nope, just looks hard to service and adjust.
Thanks for the comment mate I see your point maybe your right haha and yes for me I think it’s a no for internal suspension as well
Oh god yeah must see the suspension! Can also imagine that'll be quite a nightmare on the trail I actually like the Gen 3 look of ebikes I like to see the motor aswell on the new one's the older gen 1 and 2 when the frames were a huge bulge around the motor and the motors tilted up towards the down tubes I didn't like that look now there level the frames are alot nicer
How does the shock cool on long descents inside the frame on the Scott?
Not sure but the riders at Scott know what they are doing so I’m sure it’s fine!
Hi, good vidéo as akways but is There a reason why you do not or review a Little bit moré (top t'en hard Tails) hard Tails EMTB's? You briefly touch on one AT the end of this vidéo but the face that hard Tails EMTB's have There place would be Nice to see moré. Thanks :)
Yep 👍 I’ll definitely try and do more but my channel is very much high end e-bikes
Any recommendations for bikes around the $1500 aud range ? I don’t really know much about e bikes just want something that’s good quality but decent price to take camping
Look at the Velotric Summit 1. $1799. A little heavy and has a rear wheel motor. Pretty loaded otherwise
Sam do new canyon grizl on..❤❤
What’s that never seen it
Creastlines the nicest but face it your not buying that bike lol no Normal working class anyway! The Cannondale in the Green was actually very nice I've just bought thw new cube 2024 action team though I'm happy with that
Was the ep801 range fixed or is it still 20% like ep8?
It seems better but let’s see in my motor test this month
Hey Sam, where abouts in Spain are you?. I’m off to Spain for a month in late May
Hey Rider I live in Madrid
Darn it I'll be travelling further north along the Pyrenees. Anyway do keep up the great work and that was a great episode because it was a very useful quick fire comparison of some great bike. While I ride a Turbo Levo Comp any of those bikes looked excellent, we are spoiled for choice.@@SamsBikes
Merida eOne-sixty, but I still don't for which version (carbon+600Wh or AL+750Wh) will have rob a bank :D
There must be a new Canyon Spectral On coming out with a Bosch motor since Canyon are having massive problems with cracked Shimano battery casings and have no batteries to honour warranties.
Shit I haven’t heard anything about that and mine Spectral is going strong
@@SamsBikes check your battery at the two bolt mount inserts
Smaller batteries plus range extenders, bring it on!
Have you heard about the frames cracking on Kelly’s Theo’s
I haven’t what’s going on?
I’ll send a vid
yeah I'm adding 504 w to my 900 w battery frame , no need these skinny ebike , to do what for what ?
Yep I think 500wh internal and 200-300wh range extender is the sweet spot
i saw 3 5 are missing
See it
Hallo guten tag wie geht es dir? Ich wohne in Portugal? Ich mag es für seinen Wert. Minimo ( 1000€ OK Thank you
No MGU = 🦕
😂ridiculous expensive Toys...
Sam you need more practice on your time stamps on your vids 😂
What have I done now?
@@SamsBikes nothing bad 😂 time stamps for each bike at the start are fine, last 3 bike are in 1 section
Haha I must of got tired! 😴
E bikes are for guys in their 40s with haircuts like guys in their 20s. Massive cope machines.
Nice 👍 one mate might be in the wrong place this is a ebike channel
E-Bikes are gay
Not heard that one before There was a person stood at the front of the class when you were at school You should have paid more attention to them
